My favorite grater for shredding cheddar
This isn't the fastest grater I own, and it can feel a little flimsy when you're using it on a giant block of cheddar.

But it works like a dream. It's quick, the cheese is big enough to use and small enough to melt quickly, and it leaves a fairly smooth face behind.

The blade cover doesn't fully click into place for storage, but it stays on fine. And for $10, it's a steal

Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
I have a larger box grater that kind of tears up the cheese, so I wanted to try this one that looks simple and easier to clean.

I have one and it's great for zesting

I came back from Italy and we used this type of grater there to not only grate cheese but to shape pasta as well - you roll it along the inside of the grater and it gives texture to the gnocchi.
