Hold my knifes
Jennifer W on Jun 13, 2015
Did not have a brand name on it, and appears to have more wide slots than the block we have now.

How wide is each slot?
A shopper on Mar 12, 2012
Best Answer: Safely store your knives within arm’s reach on your countertop or shelf. Block has slots for 17 knives, including three chef’s knives, six steak knives and shears. Mix and match your favorite, most-used knives and create your own perfect set that neatly tucks away in this beautiful wood block.

The dimensions are as follows:

The honing steel slot is 1" X 1"
The scissors slot is 1 1/2" X 1/2"
The steak knife slots are 1/8" X 1"
Then there are three 1/4" X 1" slots, two 1/4" X 2" slots, two 1/4" X 1 1/2" slots, one 1/4" X 2 1/4" and one 1/4" by 1 1/4"

Will the slot for a honing steel support one 12 inches long?
Erik G on Jun 21, 2015
Best Answer: Yes! It will support one that's 12" long. The tip of the sharpening steel will touch your counter (there's an opening at the end of the block) so only 1/4 inch of the steel and the handle will rest above the wood block top (it wont sit flush with the top of the block). This doesn't bother me, but worth mentioning just in case.

Is the cherry block made out of solid cherry wood or just stained cherry?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2015
Best Answer: I took a closer look. It appears to me to be either stained or have a veneer. It is a very pretty color. I like mine a lot.

Can this block fit a carving knife and bread knife (both 10 1/4" long), an 8 1/2" santoku, and 9" chef's knife?
Kevin H on Feb 8, 2015
Best Answer: I don't use 10 1/4 inch knives, but I believe the top 2 slots would work. The other 2 are fine. There are Multiple slots for chef knives. The only problem I had was fitting my steak knives in the bottom row, as the handles on the knives are big. So I put 5 in the slots and 1 above them. It is a nice block.

Can a 7" Chai Dao fit in the largest slot? Thanks!
A shopper on Nov 13, 2014
Best Answer: If it did fit, it would be a tight squeeze. The knife width & the slot width are both 2 1/4".
