This thing works wonderfully
I hate to admit it, but I don't have a lot of upper body strength -- nor hand strength for that matter. Most jars have to be opened by one of my neighbors. I tried this out this morning for the first time. I put the jar on the pad, slid the tool into place on the lid, and it OPENED! With very little strength needed. No sore hands. No grunts and groans.

Can't recommend this enough

Excellent!
I'm pushing 80, very small hands and arthritis and their are very few jars that I can't open. I strongly recommend it.

Can't figure it out
For the life of me, I cannot get it to work. Admittedly, I have only tried on tight home canning jars w/ lids (not a store bought item).
But, it has not yet moved a canning ring. I also think this striped the teeth -- which is not a good sign

WE HAVE THE OPENER NOT THE PAD WILL IT STILL WORK?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2014
Best Answer: This opener is absolutely outstanding I every respect. I use it to open 1 qt jars of sugar water used to feed my honey bees. I don't understand the "pad" comment but this handles a very difficult opening job with ease.
