Best General Purpose All-Clad Ever
This was the first All-Clad pan I bought. It has become my workhorse. I cook a lot and was skeptical of the All-Clad hype. I have an excellent assortment of many kinds of pots and pans collected over some 30 years of cooking and this pan exceeds all of them for overall usage. It cooks evenly, browns nicely and cleans up beautifully. I use this pan to prepare soups, sauces and saute vegetables. I have since purchased more All-Clad stainless, but this pan is still the one I reach for when preparing many, many meals

Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
I have this saute pan, and it is incredibly useful.

I want to be able to brown roasts and whole chicken on the range and then roast in the oven to finish. This pan is deep and large enough to accommodate that.

It was on the gift registry and it is what the recipient wanted!
Also, good cookware is one of the more costly kitchen items and much desired by brides/grooms. If a good product, it will last a very long time.

It's really hard to find a 6qt pot from a quality maker. I looked a long time for one like this.

I am looking for a pan that will not warp but will sit totally flat, as I cook on a solid surface electric stove. Is this pan guranteed NOT to warp

I have purchased other brand pans that have warped with the first use, even when not setting over high heat. I do not want to spend a lot of money for something that will fail

We have very good luck with All-Clad products as one of our premier lines of cookware. If by chance the saute pan would warp on you it is covered by All-Clad against defect, as well as Sur La Table's lifetime guarantee.

if you are looking for an item to compare an contrast you may want to look at our Demeyere Industry 5 6.5 quart Covered Saute Pan (sku #1031608). The superior base stability of Industry5 cookware guarantees the bottom of the pan remains almost perfectly flat when heated, even to higher temperatures. Oils and other liquids will evenly coat the bottom of the pan and never pool on the sides for even cooking results time after time.
