Great addition for your basic cookware collection!
I love this skillet. I bought the 7 inch pan through another company and was able to purchase the 11 inch pan through Sur La Table at a great sale price.
This pan is a wonderful multi-functional piece. Its deep sides allow you to use it as a basic skillet or to prepare recipes that require more volume. In addition, its rounded sides are great for preparing sauces.
I intend to complete my French skillet collection with the purchase of the 9 inch skillet soon.

I have one french pan and I really love it for creating sauces. Few skillets perform the way these do.

Does All Clad make a lid for the 13 inch French skillet?
A shopper on Sep 4, 2012
Best Answer: All-Clad’s French skillets feature large surface areas that are perfect for searing, browning, and pan frying. Higher, rounded sides prevent splattering, facilitate basting, and enable you to flip like pro. Ideal for making everything from omelets and frittatas to stir fry and seafood. Transitions easily from stovetop to oven.

Skillets do not usually come with lids as they are designed for quick frying that promotes evaporation and a lid would be counter productive to that purpose. Due to popular demand for lids for the skillets most companies now make a few that come with lids. While All Clad does not currently have a lid for the 13" french skillet, they do have the 9" and the 11" french skillet that both come with lids. I have attached it below for your review.
