Description

SPECIAL VALUE We love how this unique double boiler gives you two pans in one. Use the 2-quart saucepan for making delicious soups and side dishes, or add the 1½-quart double boiler insert to melt chocolate or make cream-based desserts and sauces.

The ceramic insert delivers heat slowly and gently, preventing scorching or separating of delicate ingredients. It’s also ideal for reheating foods since the insert provides a cushion against high heat that might change consistency or flavor.

Excellent product
We truly enjoy using this double boiler. We make many chocolate desserts and this works great for melting. Easy to clean.

Where was each part made? Both in the USA?
Katherine H on Jan 7, 2015
Best Answer: That is a good question. I have already recycled the boxes. The stainless steel pan says handcrafted in the USA. The ceramic insert has information about oven to table and dishwasher safe. The enclosed pamphlet has a phone number one eight hundred two five five two five two three (Sur la Table does not want phone numbers so I decided to sell it out ::-) There are a number of manufacturers of ceramics in the Midwest that could be a supplier of the ceramic insert -- why not give All-Clad a call? I know that they do outsource some non-metal parts and I could not find anything in what I have that confirms that the insert was also manufactured in the USA.

Induction?

Is it induction compatible?
A shopper on Jul 22, 2011
Best Answer: This double boiler--perfect for delicate, creamy sauces--is induction compatible because of its 3-ply bonded stainless-steel construction
