Ok, I bought this at the store a year ago and just recently ordered more in this color for Valentine's Day decor. All I can do for future buyers is list out the benefits I have seen:
1. Affordable 2. Large circumference for more than just plate coverage (see photo). 3. Stain Proof (within reason, I have spilled hot sauce, wine, etc. and if you quickly snag it with a napkin it doesn't stain the material. 4. Washable (I have only needed to wash it once in a year) 5. Flexible 6. Really vibrant colo 7. Tons and tons of complements from others...
Based on the great reviews, I bought four each of the cherry, espresso, and white color. What a huge disappointment after expecting something that would closely resemble the color red. The only cherries I know that are this coral, pinkish hue are probably some cheap plastic ones found in the tacky display on your Great-Aunt Marge's dining room table! In case you're wondering, the espresso and white color are as pictured. The other let down is that a 15"" round is actually quite small like the size of a charger plate. My fault for not visualizing accurately. Forget the space for utensils because there isn't room for any. By the way, the placemats look and feel cheap too. Anybody interested in these affordable beauties might want to think twice and spend a bit more for the Chilewich ones. I didn't send mine back due to the unreasonable return shipping charges, so I'm regretting the wasted money that could've gone towards something more expensive
Its a very bright red---a true, cherry red is hard to achieve on Polyproplene, because color takes differently to this material. Certain colors are hard to achieve. It's definetely does not have an orange tint--but could be associated more with ""pinky"" undertones
