Ideal for cooling and decorating cookies, cakes and other baked goods. Rack’s grid pattern provides support and allows even cooling. Rack doubles as a trivet for casseroles and other hot dishes. 18/8-gauge stainless steel is oven and dishwasher safe. 16½" x 11".
I have look high and low for a good stainless steel cooling rack that will fit the half sheet stainless steel pan I have. This is it. I use it with the Focus brand stainless steel half sheet baking pan (size 13""x18""x1""). It fits perfectly well. I am using this cooling rack to bake fish, chicken and bacons. Put all the meat on top of this cooling rack and place it over the baking pan to bake (be sure to put some water on the baking pan on the bottom of the rack so it does not burn and easy to clean up). I plan to use the rack underneath the silicone madeleine molds as well. You can not go wrong with this awesome rack - well made, strong, easy to clean and food safe. Buy it
I have looked EVERYWHERE for a stainless steel rack for my half sheet pans with the small grid. I wanted stainless so I could roast on it. I finally found it! I bought two and they are GREAT! I just ordered two more! Perfect for cooling and roasting.
I bought two of these. I use them to cook bacon and sausage patties in a half sheet. I put a pound of thick cut bacon on one and a pound of sausage patties on the other. Al foil liners to make cleanup easy. They work like a charm.
I wanted sturdy racks that I could use for multiple purposes (cooling racks, baking, roasting etc.). I wanted stainless. I toss them in the dishwasher and they come out clean.
They will come in handy during the holiday cooking season.
I recently ordered two of these and I just love them. I threw out my 15 year-old, folding-legged style in favor of these. They function as expected, and clean up like a dream. They also store much nicer without all those folding parts. I can't imagine ever needing to replace them since the quality is exceptional, but I bookmarked them just in case. Very happy to find these
I bought these cooling racks 2 years ago and they are by far the best racks I've owned. I've owned the non-stick and chrome plated types with the finish on each pealing and then rusting. You'll pay more for these but they'll last a long, long time
These racks are absolutely wonderful! I had been searching for good quality, stainless steel (no rust) racks that would fit my half sheet baking pans. These are PERFECT!! I've used them several times. They were sprayed with Pam and used in a 450 degree oven for breaded chicken and pork. No warping and cleaning was a breeze. Just rinse and put in the dishwasher! I only wish they came in a round shape to use in my round roasting pan.
Have gone through lots of cookie racks over the years. By contrast, these are durable, spacious, easy to store, and are truly dishwasher safe (no rust, unlike some others I've used over the years). It's so nice to come across something that just does what it's supposed to, and these come through like champs
I had been looking for a stainless steel rack for quite some time and this one was perfect. I wanted it for oven cooking bacon and chicken wings. My grandson uses it for kale chips. Very versatile and easy to clean. Can handwash and safe for the dishwasher.
I already own 2 stainless steel half-sheet racks, but they are mostly composed of parallel wires running one way, about 1/2 inch apart. This means placing things on them so nothing falls through is difficult. They are slightly larger than the half-sheet pans, and clamp over them, so you must grab them from both top and bottom to move them as a unit. This can be awkward when they are hot. And they were quite expensive. I decided to try this Sur la Table rack, and have been very pleased with it. The price is slightly less, it sits completely inside the half-sheet pan, and the grid is very small, so you can very easily roast/bake smaller items without such careful placement. You can also grab the edges of your pan, without needing to also grab the rack, to move the entire set-up. I'm not worried about the weld between the legs and the rack surface breaking from stress over time, as with my first racks. I will be purchasing at least one more of these.
We had purchased these racks for perhaps 5-6 years ago for the reasons others listed below. They are strong, durable, and never have rusted or broken a weld. They are perfect for 1/4 sheet pans. In the end I became tired of purchasing inexpensive racks that failed, usually because of welds or rust, or that did not work because of the lack of support (too few feet). The purchase once again proves that to purchase quality is more thrifty than re-purchasing inferior quality items.
I was pleased to find a stainless steel baking rack that would work both in my half sheet pan in the oven and as a cooling rack. It's difficult to find a rack that is stainless steel and I was pleased to find one at Sur La Table. This rack received very good reviews so I'm confident it will work for my purposes. Free shipping helped a lot!
I needed a cooking rack that I could safely put in the oven. I will use it to cook food that I want crisp on both sides. I chose this one because the last one I had rusted quickly. THIS one is stainless steel AND dishwasher safe. Can't wait to use it
I'm confused - many people report using this (as I'd like to) for baking - for example, bacon. Yet the responses to some questions about this from SLT cust svc indicate that it is not safe to use in a hot oven and is only recommended for cooling. Yet it is called and baking and cooling rack. I've looked for a stainless steel rack to use for baking in a half sheet pan (to raise items above the pan)and hope that this will work. It sounds as though it is for some - but is there a problem with baking on it

Best Answer:Yes, this rack can be used for baking and cooling, but I do not recommend taking it over 425 degrees
I regularly roast vegetables at 425 degrees and the pans are perfect, with no buckling. I did roast eggplant with the rack inside the pan at 450 degrees, the pan did buckle slightly but the rack performed perfectly. I am very satisfied with both the pan and the rack. One of the best features for me is that the rack can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
Best Answer:Have owned for almost a year. Use is a lot on not only cookies but other items as well. Even used it in my smoker. So far-no rust and is easy to clean. I do keep an old toothbrush by my sink for cleaning any of the grind that do not readily come clean in hot doapy water.
You may be looking for a baking sheet, rather than a baking/cooling rack. These are simply meant to cool your freshly-baked goodies.if you need something to bake food, a baking sheet or jelly-roll pan would work, and you could transfer your food to these racks afterward so that it can cool. The advantage of using this rather than leaving your goodies in the pan after baking is that it prevents over-cooking, and allows air circulation for crispy bottoms. Enjoy
Best Answer:I have never done that or even thought about it. The trays do have 4 resting spacers on the bottom so I do not see why you could not stack th on each other. I did buy 2 of th but one was a gift to my daughter who lives 3 hours away from me.
Shouldn't be used in the oven. But these are a great way to cool your food after baking. Transferring your baked goods to these racks rather than leaving them in the baking sheet prevents over-cooking, and allows air circulation for crispy bottoms
