Ultra-absorbent towels are made from cotton grown without harmful pesticides, chemicals or fertilizers. This set of two towels is perfect for everything from drying dishes to wiping up spills. The 100% organic Turkish cotton towels are machine-washable.
Our organic towels are GOTS certified and are 100% organic. Only textile products that contain a minimum of 70% organic fibers can become GOTS certified. All chemical inputs such as dyestuffs and auxiliaries used must meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria. The choice of accessories is limited in accordance with ecological aspects as well. A functional waste-water treatment plant is mandatory for any wet-processing unit involved and all processors must comply with minimum social criteria.
After extensive research and legwork, these Organic Cotton Kitchen Towels are the best of the best. You will not find anything better than this product. Just the right size, they not only look and feel as exceptional as the day they were first unwrapped, but they're also extremely absorbent. No more wiping with a towel and finding you've merely pushed the moisture around the surface of whatever it is you 're trying to dry. The white color is surprisingly clean and stain-free after each wash, plus they hold up to bleach and a hot dryer. No fraying, no shredding, no shrinking, no regrets! I plan on buying more when they go on sale again
I have been looking for a non-Chinese made hand/dish towel for my kitchen for a long time. These hand towels made in Turkey are beautifully made, soft and absorbent, and they wash very well. The only thing I would change about them is to have found that they are made in the USA. Maybe someday . . .
"Best kitchen towles, but not in current 3 colors"
We'd been using these towels for years, after settling on them as the best kitchen towels / dish towels we could find. They work and look great, are absorbent yet quick-drying, and last a very long time. Unfortunately, Sur La Table recently eliminated most of the colors and now only offer white (which dirties and stains too easily) and two dark hues that don't look good in our light kitchen. We've always used a very common color -- sand (or beige or tan whatever they might've called it). Not sure why they'd discontinue that one. It's the only reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.
It seems that the actual manufacturer is Ritz, under the label ""Organic Kitchen,"" so perhaps they stopped supplying this color and others. If so, Sur La Table could surely request it again. Until then, we're looking for new towels from another store
These towels are really good quality, absorbent, and super soft. I can tell they will last a very long time which is why we bought 10 of them. (We really needed dish towels). I actually find myself doing the dishes more often Lol, which is very unusual for me. Great Towels
As my review title states, I am not overjoyed with the quality. I was looking for high quality cotton dish towels ever since the ones I currently have were discontinued by another well-known kitchen and accessories company. I was expecting a thicker cotton that didn't fall apart in the wash. Naturally, I washed these before putting into my linen closet. On both, stitching came out along one edge. They shrunk some, too, which did not occur with the towels that I had from the other source. I'm keeping them and will use them, but they are not great.
I chose these towels because we are trying to get as many organic items in our household as possible. These were the first organic kitchen towels I found during my research, that had reviews saying they are absorbent.
Bought the organic towels and the dual sided to see which I liked better and hands down the organic are the winner. I've been looking all over for some towels, but quality seems to suffer a lot these days. These however do not. These are the best hand towels I own.
After over ten years my white Sur la table cotton kitchen towels are starting to wear thin from the years of much use, washing, and bleaching stains out. Amazingly they are still as soft and absorbent as when they were new. However, it's time for them to be replaced.
Because I want only healthy items & cleaning products in my home, products free of harmful chemicals & nano-particles. Also, I fully support purchasing only USA-made items & am asolutely opposed to buying anything from sources that exploit child labor.
I've been looking for well-made white cotton kitchen towels ever since another well known, kitchen supply vendor stopped selling their version (which are high quality). Based on the reviews of the ones that Sur la Table sells, as well as the specifications, I'm assuming that I'll like these as well.
They're organic! I lived near cotton fields and saw the effects of toxic pesticides first-hand. These towels look absorbent, I like the colors, and I'm happy to support organic farmers and practices. Thanks for offering these.
