Copper flakes off
It looked nice for a couple months, then the copper began falling off in flakes & chips. Called Chantal -- they told me I used the wrong cleaner & was my fault. All I used dish soap & a sponge on it and always dried it after use. She didn't believe me, denied the problem & hung up. We have a kitchen full of copper, never had this problem with any of it.
SAVE YOUR $. Not only does it not hold up, the company is dreadful.

Whistle Does Not Work
Both kettles, the one I received for Mother's Day and the one we received in exchange, did not have working whistles right out of the box. I had the chromed version for about eight years. For about seven of those years, the whistle worked. The whistle mechanism did fall apart, but I was able to reassemble it. However, about a year later it completely fell apart and could not be reassembled. When I think about all the kettles that last for decades upon decades, it's sad to think something so costly is so poorly made that it cannot even handle normal use more than 7 years and that two new ones would not work at all
