This is one of my latest gadgets and it REALLY works! Just roll garlic inside the peeler tube on counter top a few times until you hear a ""pop"" sound. Like magic, the peeled garlic cloves slide out the tube and the skin stays in. Easy to clean and sweet smelling hands too. Couldn't be easier
I purchased this product as a replacement of a similar silicone tube peeler, that I lost during my recent move, and I am almost 100% sure that I bought few years ago at Sur La Table. I was excited to see this one in the store, nice vibrant colors, softer silicone and larger opening at the ends. It does work very well, makes peeling the cloves much easier and faster. However, I have used it only once, almost 2 months ago, and I still can't get rid of the ""bad"" garlic smell. The entire corner of the kitchen had this strong, old garlic smell, inside the drawers and cabinets. I do love garlic, I cook with it almost daily, but I found it is easier to get rid of the smell from my hands, that this silicone tube, that apparently absorbs odors forever. I washed it by hand and in a dishwasher without much help. I am going to look for the peeler I had in the past
This handy tools eliminates the frustration of peeling fresh garlic cloves. Just pop single cloves of garlic inside and roll on the counter to peel them. Easy! The silicone tube has washed up fine with no lingering odors.
