Still Unclear as to how this works

I think that the original question was how this spaetzle press actually works. It is hard to envision and there is little information on the web. Do you push the dough into the square part and then just slide it over the template? Do you add pressure as you slide the dough holder over the template? or ???

Best Answer: The stainless-steel spaetzle maker is basically like a bottomless mining car basket that runs along a flat cheese grater with larger openings. Cooks load their spaetzle dough into the basket, and by running the ""car"" along the rails of the grater, the batter is pushed through into a waiting pot of boiling water

How is the dough pressed through the grate? Is there a plunger that pushes it through? If so, what does the plunger look like
