Description

HAND MADE Le Creuset’s colorful braiser is ideal for searing, slow cooking, simmering, sautéing, baking, braising meats, preparing short ribs, stews, marinating, poaching, browning and much more! Its unmatched versatility and superior cooking performance make it an addition to your kitchen that you’ll use every day.

With a wide range of sizes and vibrant colors, you’re sure to find just the right one—whether you’re making dinner for two or serving a holiday feast.

HANDCRAFTED IN FRANCE

At the Le Creuset foundry in northern France, molten iron is sand-cast from a single mold that’s destroyed after use, explaining why no two pieces are exactly alike.

EVENLY CONDUCTS AND RETAINS HEAT

Since Le Creuset’s enameled cast-iron cookware evenly distributes heat, the braiser is perfect for searing, simmering, sautéing, and braising meats. It combines the versatility of a wide cooking area with the precision and control of a heat-retaining lid. A flat base allows for poaching, searing, roasting, stir-frying, and browning, and is also great for everything from rich risottos and spicy curries to jasmine rice and more. We think this might be one of the most versatile pieces of cookware we’ve ever tested.

THE BEST MATERIALS FOR A LIFETIME OF USE

The smooth, long-lasting exterior enamel resists chipping and cracking. The interior sand enamel is perfect for cooking with moisture, and it’s also the easiest to clean.

DESIGNED TO MAKE COOKING AND SERVING EASIER

A re-engineered lid makes sure it stays more securely in place and locks in more flavors and aromas. Built-in lid stabilizers create a no-slide fit, and the slip-resistant composite knob is heat resistant to 500°F. Oversized handles (now 45% larger) provide a secure grip, so you can easily transport the pot from stovetop to oven to table—even while wearing oven mitts.

Note: The 1.5 qt. ships from the vendor and incurs an additional shipping charge of $7.50.

What are the dimensions of the 1 1/2 qt. braiser?
Michelle L on Jul 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 3.4 inches x 9.6 inches x 7.8 inches
Is the knob on the lid oven safe?
Dolly B on Mar 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Dolly,
Yes, because the piece is a braiser, it is designed to go into the oven and stay covered with the kid so the knob is indeed over safe. Hope this helps. We use nothing but Le Creuset cast iron pieces and they are great. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I'm trying to decide if I would get a braised or a skillet. Can they do similar things? I like the idea of a lid! Please advise

BEST ANSWER: I happen to have both a braiser and a skillet. While all Le Creuset is fantastic, I do prefer the braiser with the lid over the skillet. I prefer the cream colored interior over the black for my cooking needs. I got the smaller braiser and it is bigger than you think and is a great cooking vessel. My Le Creuset is amazing and I'm sure you will love it as well.
Can this be used to cook eggs on the stove top, do eggs stick a lot if you are scrambling with cheese, ? need to get away from non stick, thank you
A shopper on Feb 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you could use the LeCreuset to cook eggs. I suggest you use both butter and a tiny bit of vegetable oil in the pan before you put in your eggs. The pan takes a little time to heat up but then it can get very hot quickly. Never put your LeCreuset in the dishwasher.
I know the knob can withstand 500 degree. If I do not use the lid, what is the maximum temperature that this pan can handle? I think I will use it in the broiler some time, and 500 degree seems to be low for a broiler.
A shopper on Mar 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: While the pan itself can typically handle more than 500°, Le Creuset doesn't recommend it.
