"Looks good, but doesn't sing!"
This is a very practical tea kettle, but mine has absolutely no whistle sound -- beyond a slight wheeze -- when it is boiling, so take care if you leave the room. Also, the relatively squat handle gets in the way of an easy fill-up, from my water faucet at least. More thought could have been put into that part of the design: a slightly longer and maybe a little more arched handle would help. It looks cute and sturdy, though, and it does the job. I picked the blue and it is a lovely color

Perfect kettle
This little kettle does the job beautifully. I bought to replace a kettle I had for years (well over a decade) and I have not been disappointed. The handel is a plus as it alows you to easily pour the water without fear of being scalded by water or steam. The sleek design also goes well in any kitchen. I highly recommend this for anyone in need of a new kettle.

Bought this tea keetle two weeks ago at the Hells Kitchen store in NYC in black, excellent material and finish.
I have been using it since then with no issues, it looks beautiful on my countertop.

Sur la Table brand products have good price and good features

Very nice teapot!
Received this about a week and a half ago, it's very stylish in terms of it's shape, the whistle works well, and the lid is sufficiently easy to remove and replace. It holds a good amount of water, but not so much that it takes forever to heat up. The finish is very high quality, it has not discolored at all, even though the color is light (I ordered the green.)

I like it a lot

Tea Anyone?
The tea kettle is as described, the base holds enough water for at least 4 mugs of tea. The top fits snugly but a little pull and it comes off. It is easy to fill, my faucet head is flatter and fits nicely under the handle and fills without a problem. The opening is wide enough for me to fit my hand into the pot for cleaning-which was one of my concerns. The whistle has a nice alert sound-not an ear piercing sound. It has been 2 weeks since the purchase and so far I am very happy with it. I bought the black and it blends nicely with my appliances

You can't go wrong
I purchased this for my wife as a Christmas present and after a month of use she still loves it! She uses it 5 days out of 7 and it looks and functions great. The whistle is gradual when it reaches boiling point then lets you know it's fully ready. The lid trigger is solidly made and functions well and the enamel coating is holding up great. It's not made for dishwasher, but is very easy to clean by hand. A great product for the money that will last a life time with little maintenance

Easy to handle
I purchased this kettle as a gift for Christmas. We previously had a very nice Kitchen Aid kettle which was great except that you always needed and oven mit or rag to handle it after you made hot water. And it required two hands to operate, one to hold the kettle and the other to open the spout lid.

This kettle solved both problem with an all plastic handle and a lever operated spout lid, you can now take it right off the stove from boiling and easily pour it with no gloves or rags. It does seem a bit weak as far as the lid mechanism but time will tell on that.

Overall we love the new kettle and the old one will be retired

great teakettle
Been using for a few weeks - seems to be ideal. Loud whistle that doesn't quit, handle doesn't heat up so no need for a pot holder, finish looks great. The red teapot makes a cheery addition to my kitchen. It gets lots of use so I will know in a year how it holds up. For now it is attractive and functional and seems built to last

Stunning & completely functional
About 5 months ago we were horrified to find that our name brand kettle was leaving a sludgy grey residue on the inside after use. No matter how many times we cleaned it with warm soapy suds or vinegar, the same thing would happen with repeat use. In the time since we've purchased 4 additional stovetop kettles that were highly ranked on Amazon. Each time there was a problem- the handle would get too hot, the spout would dribble burning water as it poured, the lid would rust within several uses, etc. A month ago we were in Sur la Table and decided to give this one a try. We have used it almost daily since then. First of all, it's gorgeous. The black looks stunning in our black, charcoal, aluminum & warm maple kitchen. The kettle has a nice weight in your hand but is not too heavy. When you depress the lever to open the spout it does so gracefully without a jolt- important when you have boiling water in there. The handle gets a little warm but by no means is too hot to handle. No plastic parts touch the water- only enamel and metal. There's a smooth pour once the whistle sounds. No funny taste to the water, and no residue on the inside of the kettle afterwards. Also- no rust at all inside the lid. This is very well made in Thailand and we would not hesitate to buy it again if needed. It's the perfect kettle we'd been trying to find!

I walked into Sur la Table planning to buy a much more expensive teakettle. I received good advice from a sales clerk and wound up with this one.
All of the colors are great. The kettle works perfectly on my induction cooktop and looks adorable.
Great value!

Loved the kettle, but...
Very nice looking teapot, and love the yellow. Unfortunately, it broke within the first week of using it...the "whistle" portion and spring popped right out. I'm hoping it was a fluke and plan on replacing it. I was however, I little disappointed when I called customer service to report it. The best they could do for me was to give me the names of the local stores (not very conveniently located for me), or send me a fed ex label to return it, and send the replacement when they received the defective one back. Given how quickly it broke, I was hoping for a replacement right away, and I could then return it in the box....
