It'll last a lifetime (and look good doing it too)
I didn't purchase this specific piece - rather, I bought one that was being discontinued with a handle. Regardless, I know that they both perform the same.

The quality of Le Creuset is legendary and rightfully so. It's solid, heats quickly and evenly, retains heat well, and can perform whatever tasks I need it to - all while looking fantastic. In fact, it stays on my stovetop all of the time because it looks that good.

If you're on the fence whatsoever about pulling the trigger on a Le Creuset piece (any of them, really) - go ahead and do it. It might set you back a few pennies more than other similar products, but you can be sure that it will last a lifetime and is worthy of being passed down through generations

The perfect pot
Everyone must own at least one piece of Le Creuset cast iron cookware. Its amazing. The 5.5 qt round french oven is prob the most versatile piece. You need this pot.

Can I get replacement parts for Le Creuset?

Do you know if I can purchase a new black handle for the cover of my Le Creuset French Oven? I put my cover too close to my ovens heating element and it broke in half.Thank-yo
A shopper on Jul 21, 2012
Best Answer: Although Sur La Table does carry replacement parts, you should be able to contact Le Creuset directly to have it replaced. Apart from that, you can purchase a stainless steel knob-oven safe at any temperature- from our website

Can the French Oven be used similarly to a saute pan?

Does the French oven have a tighter seal than the pan? Is one thicker than the other?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2012
Best Answer: Le Creuset’s iconic cast iron French ovens in an all-new color: Marseille. Perfect for slow cooking, simmering soups and stews, and baking everything from side dishes to artisan bread, Le Creuset’s versatility and superior cooking performance make this cookware you will use every day.

You can use both the enameled cast iron Saute Pan and French Oven similarly. Both will seal excellently due to the weight of the lids Both will cause a tight seal to seal in your flavors and moisture. Although each piece of Le Creuset enameled cast iron is unique, there will not be a noticable difference in the thickness of either the French Oven or the Saute Pan.
