The Pro collection by Zwilling J.A. Henckels combines their 280 years of knife-forging experience with the simplistic, yet innovative, design of renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun. An angled bolster helps you cut with enhanced precision, safety and comfort, and encourages a professional “pinch grip.” The optimized blade shape reduces hand and wrist stress to prevent fatigue with prolonged use.

Using Zwilling’s exclusive Sigmaforge® process, knives are precision-forged from a single piece of Friodur® ice-hardened high-carbon German stainless steel, laser-cut for optimal blade angles and finally polished by hand. This results in a sharper blade with a 57 Rockwell hardness for excellent edge retention and superior resilience.

Beautiful, all-new design features an angled bolster that allows the entire length of the blade to be used for chopping, slicing, dicing and more. This unique feature also permits the entire length of the blade to be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Dynamic handles feature rounded edges and ultra-ergonomic design to reduce fatigue with extended use. The classic triple-rivet handle has a full tang for impeccable geometry and perfect balance. Exclusive special-formula steel and sturdy polymer handles ensure a lifetime of use.

This authentic German chef’s knife is the ultimate, all-purpose knife you’ll use every day. Use it for chopping, slicing, dicing and mincing just about any ingredient. Lifetime warranty. Made in Germany.

Superb, German-Made Cutlery
To produce this impeccable collection of cutlery, Zwilling J.A. Henckels enlisted the expertise of renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun to design a knife that is incredibly simple and comfortable to use. These knives are precision-forged in “The City of Blades,” the German knife capital of Solingen.

A Sharper, More Durable Blade The exclusive Sigmaforge process requires the blade to be made from a single piece of high-carbon German stainless steel. The precision-forged blade is ice-hardened for superior resistance and features laser-cut edges so it stays sharper longer.

Enhanced Precision and Control
Angled bolster allows you to cut with improved precision, safety and control. It gives you a more professional grip and allows easier use of both Eastern- and Western-style cutting.

Optimized Blade Shape
The unique design creates an easier and user-friendly experience to help improve your cutting technique. Full-edge utility allows you to use the entire length of the blade for cutting and the blade can be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Ergonomically designed to reduce hand fatigue, the triple-riveted, full-tang handles have exceptional balance and weight.

An Excellent Chef's Knife
I am usually partial to Wusthof knives as I have been using them for years. While I will not revoke this statement and remain a loyal Wusthof fan, I must say that I am loving my new Zwilling Pro 8"" chef's knife. Here is why:

-The smooth-sloped sides of the blade in front of the bollster provide a comfortable pinch-grip. This also facilitates easy cleaning.

-The half bollster allows sharpening from heel to tip.

-The curvature of the blade's edge allows for easy roll-chopping and for asian-style chopping (more of an up-and-down motion).

-It is very sharp.

-The price point is typical for a knife of this quality.

If you are in the market for a quality, forged chef's knife, consider this new design from Zwilling. I am happy to have it in my collection

A Great starting knife for serious cooks
If you're starting to take cooking very seriously such as loving cooking and cooking on a regular basis or starting professional cooking classes, then I'd recommend this knife for you.

As the one person stated, I'm kind of a Wusthof fan, but Zwilling Henckels did a great job on this knife.

The best feature on this knife is the angled bolster. It makes the knife very comfortable to hold for a pinch grip and it makes it easy to clean. And unlike a ful bolster, it allows you to more easily sharpen the knife

Excellent cook's knife
I purchased this knife to see how if compares with my other German knives and am delighted to say it is now my favorite. The handle fits my hand to a tee, the bolster area of the blade makes for a very comfortable ""pinch grip"". The knife's blade's ground a bit thinner than is typical for ""GERMAN""knives - less drag and the steel is wonderful. This blade retains its shapeless longer than most of my others and it's simply a joy to use. (I may have to get the 10 inch but don't tell my wife...

My Favorite
Fantastic Knife. It's heavy and has great balance. It's comfortable to hold, plenty sharp and very durable. Plus, it's a good looking knife, but not flashy. Easily the best knife I've owned

Ergonomically easy.
Looked around for my first chef's knife as I was getting into school and wanted something that'll last and something on the heavier duty side. I handled most knives but really fell for the ""pinch"" grip of this knife. Didn't want to dump a lot of money on a knife for a beginner knife so pricing was also really nice
