The Pro collection by Zwilling J.A. Henckels combines their 280 years of knife-forging experience with the simplistic, yet innovative, design of renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun. An angled bolster helps you cut with enhanced precision, safety and comfort, and encourages a professional “pinch grip.” The optimized blade shape reduces hand and wrist stress to prevent fatigue with prolonged use.

Using Zwilling’s exclusive Sigmaforge® process, knives are precision-forged from a single piece of Friodur® ice-hardened high-carbon German stainless steel, laser-cut for optimal blade angles and finally polished by hand. This results in a sharper blade with a 57 Rockwell hardness for excellent edge retention and superior resilience.

Beautiful, all-new design features an angled bolster that allows the entire length of the blade to be used for chopping, slicing, dicing and more. This unique feature also permits the entire length of the blade to be sharpened from bolster to tip.

Dynamic handles feature rounded edges and ultra-ergonomic design to reduce fatigue with extended use. The classic triple-rivet handle has a full tang for impeccable geometry and perfect balance. Exclusive special-formula steel and sturdy polymer handles ensure a lifetime of use.

An Excellent Chef's Knife
I am usually partial to Wusthof knives as I have been using them for years. While I will not revoke this statement and remain a loyal Wusthof fan, I must say that I am loving my new Zwilling Pro 8"" chef's knife. Here is why:

-The smooth-sloped sides of the blade in front of the bollster provide a comfortable pinch-grip. This also facilitates easy cleaning.

-The half bollster allows sharpening from heel to tip.

-The curvature of the blade's edge allows for easy roll-chopping and for asian-style chopping (more of an up-and-down motion).

-It is very sharp.

-The price point is typical for a knife of this quality.

If you are in the market for a quality, forged chef's knife, consider this new design from Zwilling. I am happy to have it in my collection

My favorite tool in my kitchen.
Finding a knife is like finding a pair of pants, you have to find one thats comfortable and when i tried this knife its like its a part of my hand. i can use this knife all day long and not even notice

Excellent cook's knife
I purchased this knife to see how if compares with my other German knives and am delighted to say it is now my favorite. The handle fits my hand to a tee, the bolster area of the blade makes for a very comfortable ""pinch grip"". The knife's blade's ground a bit thinner than is typical for ""GERMAN""knives - less drag and the steel is wonderful. This blade retains its shapeless longer than most of my others and it's simply a joy to use. (I may have to get the 10 inch but don't tell my wife...

My Favorite
Fantastic Knife. It's heavy and has great balance. It's comfortable to hold, plenty sharp and very durable. Plus, it's a good looking knife, but not flashy. Easily the best knife I've owned

Ergonomically easy.
Looked around for my first chef's knife as I was getting into school and wanted something that'll last and something on the heavier duty side. I handled most knives but really fell for the ""pinch"" grip of this knife. Didn't want to dump a lot of money on a knife for a beginner knife so pricing was also really nice
