"Fantastic for apples, potatoes, pears"
I made a applesauce from scratch that my daughter gave me... She said have patience because of all the peeling 8 apples 8 pears.. So I went online and check out peelers ...This one is wonderful had everything (apples, pears) peeled and sliced in about 20 minutes.. Great for anyone who enjoys baking ... My friend borrowed it and had her grandchildren did the peeling what a joy for all...

One major flaw
Works great at peeling apples, BUT, couldn't get the suction cup to stick to anything without coming off with a little natural operating torque - tried the stove, wooden table, iron sink - wouldn't stick, always came off (wet or dry).

I'd pass and buy the clamp version

Sweet apples
I purchased this item for a friend who was wanting an apple peeler. I looked at several different ones and most of them didn't have good reviews. I got this one because it had the best reviews but was worried it might not be what I had hoped. My friend loves it, she said it was easy to use, fast and fun. She used it for potatoes and apples. I am happy I went with this peeler

Affordable quality
This is worth the 10 dollars more...I know because I first bought what looked to be the same product at a discounted price but it fell apart at crunch time (baking several pies late at night for the bake sale the next morning!). Save yourself the grief and buy this quality time saver.

This gets a lot of use.
It has been used non stop. I no longer have to peel and slice. Easy to use and adheres to the counter well.

OK but curb the enthusiasm...
The peeler works and it's worth the price but be clear of some drawbacks so you won't be disappointed. First, as noted by others the suction doesn't hold even on cookie tins. Second, it won't handle apples larger than about 3 inches in diameter. Forget the Honey Crisps. Third, you'll waste more fruit one way or the other either by peeling deeply to overcome natural unevenness or settling for unpeeled portions. If you can live with these imperfections, it works, isn't too messy, cleans with a rinse and stores easily. Let's give it a five!

My 3rd grader had a Halloween party and a preschool teacher brought this into the classroom. The kids had an absolute riot with it. Never saw 8 and 9 year olds prefer apples to candy before!

I lost my handle for my apple peeler. Where can I get another handle?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2014
Best Answer: I'm not showing anywhere that sells replacement parts for this peeler. It looks like you'll have to replace the entire unit.

the blade doesn't line up with apple?
A shopper on Sep 28, 2014
Best Answer: If it doesn't line up with the apple, it sounds like you may need to realign your peeler. Instructions are in the manual.

Does this just peel the apple or does it cut apple in slices too?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2014
Best Answer: It takes about 90- 95% of the peel off of the apple and cuts the apple into a spiral slice so not individual slices, just one long piece. Worked well on normal size apples but was more difficult to use on larger apples.
