Can this be used for compound butter?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Using the SpiceCube to freeze compound butters is unlikely to give you satisfactory results. The cups are oval in shape and there is a cup that presses down on the contents of the cups to compress them. For butter this would not work well and you would need to "dig out" the butter giving a rough appearance. It would give better results if you simply rolled the butter into a little log, wrap with waxed paper, and then wrap in plastic before freezing. You can slice off what you need and return the rest to the freezer. With the SpiceCube you would need to empty all four cups before you can clean the tray. I hope this helps.
