I bought these because I liked the way they look and seemed to be a good value. But the first time I used the small one and put it in the dishwasher (supposed to be safe) it came out with the porcelain cracked. One of the other trays has been stored with another SurLaTable porcelain bowl on top of it and when I just took it out of the cabinet the side if the tray actually as an indentation on it where the curve of the bowl was and a mark down the center of it. So if you buy them hand wash them and store them wrapped in bubble wrap.
Very disappointing as I invested in about 12 pieces of Sur La Table serving pieces just like these
I love these platters. They have been our go-to platters to display assorted desserts. We have very limited plating skills, and we have a more minimalist style of entertaining. The platters cater to our needs and limitations as they help us make our dishes/ desserts look elegant, modern and put-together. Of course for the price (which is reasonable), one can't expect it to be as gorgeous as others, but it is a good buy.
I am puzzled by the other reviews. I put the platters on the dishwasher several times now and they came out fine. I also do not have any special care for them when storing. In fact I pile lots of glasses, plates and bowls on top of them, and they came out fine
I bought these for food photos. When I opened the package, I was immediately disappointed with their appearance. The porcelain is very thick and very rustic looking. The rim is ungainly and clumsy. All together, this is a very poor and inelegant item. It has nothing of grace to it. I didn't even bother to try it. I repackaged it immediately and returned it. I would not recommend this product under any circumstances
I bought these platters a week ago and have them in various areas in my kitchen with different purposes. On a big wine barrell-top Lazy Susan I have one of them paired with Sur La Table white bowls and square plates. We grab these for our everyday meals.....the ensemble is very decorative and eye catching. Wash and microwave perfectly....no problem.
I love these three little platters. They are excellent for the price. I am a believer that food just looks better on white plates and we use these every weekend for cheese, crackers and other appetizers with our wine or cocktails. I usually just wash them quickly by hand along with my wineglasses so I cannot attest to the dishwasher-safeness of them. They are not very large but are perfect for what I use them for. They would make a great shower or housewarming gift
These arrived with a larger order of other white server ware and out of everything else they were the only broken ones. I live in Houston so I took them over to the store and painlessly switched them out. I needed plenty of serve ware for my Christmas Eve party and I wanted to take advantage of the sale for next year.
My sister gave me a set of these a couple of years ago for Christmas. They work so well for cheese and crackers and other appetizers. Everthing just seems to look better and more upscale when I plate it on these nifty platters.
They're wonderful & versatile & I'm going to give my daughter a set. Sometimes I make a salad of sliced tomatoes, avocados & mozzarella cheese on a bed of julienned greens & it works wonderfully well on this platter. Each size offers countless uses & are so great to have at hand.
I was serving food on extra plates and frying pans and I thought this $20 would keep the dinner table more organized and the overall presentation would look a little nicer. I was right, it's pretty fun.
what is the measurement of the edge on these platters?

Best Answer:Great for entertaining, this stylish set of white porcelain rectangular platters is a great addition to any décor. Stain-resistant set includes a variety of sizes that are ideal for an assortment of serving needs. Set of three. Large is 15" x 7¼", Medium is 12½" x 5", Small is 10¼" x 3¾". Set is dishwasher, freezer, microwave and oven safe.
Best Answer:I understand you to say you are thinking of using the middle rectangular platter as plates. Went into my kitchen and picked one up with that use in mind... I'd call the weight good for that use. The mid sized is approximately the same weight as the Bistro porcelain dinner plate although balanced differently, somewhat heavy but not overly so. But I question the measurement of the middle platter depending on what you may serve. If you serve meat as an entrée you should know the outside measurement of the platter is 5". The lower 'indented' inside the rim, just over 3 1/4". You won't be able to have a steak, chop, slice of rib roast or something portioned like those lay flat on the bottom. Quality is quite good, I'm just not sure if the shape will work best for you.
They are about the same weight as china dinner plates. They are on the narrow side if you take into account the angled rim. I am not sure how they would work as a dinner plate. If you give it a go please let me know how they work. It would be great to find additional uses for them!

Best Answer:The largest platter is the perfect size for appetizers. I made cauliflower buffalo bites the other night and placed a small bowl of ranch in the middle and placed a full pan of bites around it. If you placed something like normal size crostini in a row and not stacked, I would say about 8. I have yet to use the smaller pieces yet...but i plan to when I entertain more.
Of what I see in photos we only have the Blanc Square platter set. We like them but they are very shallow, don't hold much. We also have an oval serving piece 13 1/2" x 7 3/4" x 1 1/2" which we love and it holds 4+ cups of liquid. Great for a single item for 4 to 6 persons. Or 2 items for a couple.
