"Great, sturdy french press"
This french press is great! We had one small glass one, and I'm always afraid of breaking it. This one is nice and sturdy, not too heavy (which I'm always worried about with Le Creuset), and large! It makes plenty for 2-3 large cups of coffee, and keeps it warm longer than the glass press we have.

I do think that some kind of markers on the inside to indicate when I've filled to the top would be good, so that I don't end up with grinds in the spout as I pour, but not a deal-breaker

Beautiful press
I love the color of this french press and always expect high quality from Le Crueset. These items, since not cast iron, are made in China which I didn't realize until purchasing. Not as heavy as I thought it might be (good thing) and a bit tighter fit than a standard glass press. I find that grounds always appear in that first pour so I pour out the first tablespoon or so to get rid of them before drinking. Time will tell if it holds up to daily use and cleaning. For now I am very happy with the product and would recommend it

Quality inferior
I love le crueset and I really loved this french press. It made fabulous coffee, and seemed sturdy and well-made. However, within two weeks of receiving it, the top broke under normal use. The quality is not up to the standard I have come to expect from le crueset. For the price, it should have lasted longer, way longer

"Not what I expected"
It is pretty but I thought it would at least some insulating value. That is why I bought it. I'm not sure it has much more than the glass style that I've always used. I heat it up before hand and that helps; but, it is just plain old ceramic with no interior insulation or anything as it seems to suggest. Also, it is heavy and will be a continual "fragile" item for washing...both the body and the lid. With the glass version, I wasn't quite as worried about breakage. Pretty -- but not worth the hype.

Is the glaze / paint lead-free? Are the metal components free of hazardous materials? Thank you!
CAROL F on Mar 13, 2015
Best Answer: Yes and yes. i love this - it retains heat better than my glass French press, no my stainless steal press is the best at that (it's also damn near indestructible). Le Creuset is great if you're going to drink the coffee almost immediately, it's safe and gorgeous to look at.

re: Le Creuset® Cherry French Press, if the stem filter breaks, must one purchase an entire new French press - or are parts available?
A shopper on Jul 4, 2015
Best Answer: I don't think there are replacement parts available, but you'd be better off contacting Le Creuset directly to see if there are.
