Description

EXCLUSIVE Enjoy the delicious flavor and perfect texture of brick-oven pizza, right from your own oven or grill. Our simple-to-use stone heats evenly for crispier crusts every time. Plus, it’s great for making delicious bread, hot sandwiches, and much more. Stainless steel frame enhances uniform heat distribution, and handles let you easily transport pizza to your countertop or table.

For best results, pre-heat oven or grill to 500°F and place stone in middle of grill or middle of oven on lowest rack for 30 minutes. When it’s time to bake, dust stone with cornmeal before placing baked goods on top.

If baking a prepared food item, bake as directed by manufacturer on packaging. For fresh pizza, a pizza peel dusted with cornmeal works well for transferring food to the baking stone. Alternatively, using an oven mitt or glove, remove the stone and frame from the oven, place food to be baked onto the stone and return both to the oven. Hand wash. Stone is 15" round and 1½" thick; 17" frame.

How does this compare to the baking steel? My concern with the steel is that it is so heavy .. how would you compare cooking on this to cooking on the steel?
Donna M on Oct 31, 2014
Best Answer: As far as performance goes, both a steel & a stone are pretty similar in performance. The stone in the frame won't be quite as heavy, but it is easier to break & not resistant to thermal shock the way the steel is.
Have you considered just leaving the steel in the oven? Due to its weight, that's what most cooks do. Leaving it in the oven won't harm the steel, the oven, or anything you're cooking.
