Should have bought something like this long ago.
I'm not exactly speedy with a knife, so julienning has always been a chore for me. Now I just cut down the ""noodles"" that I get after running veggies through the GEFU. They tend to be a little curved, but I kind of like how they look in most dishes and it's much easier.

I also like how I can make a healthy salad out of just about anything (or a not-so-heathy thin-cut french fry). Cucumber ""noodles"" with arugula, feta and a light vinaigrette is easy to throw together and looks impressive.

I'm a little concerned about long-term durability, but that's how I feel about most plastic gadgets. Thus far, I haven't had any problems

Fair design
Pro: small size- doesn't take up too much space, relatively inexpensive, makes a nice sprial cut

Cons:
Difficult to clean,
cone design leaves ~1-2cm of vegetable that cannot be processed through.
limited to vegetables that are 3"" diamete

Probably worth the investment to get the more expensive spirale

not very good
for the price of this product you would expect greater quality than what you get.it should be half the price. The food gets stuck in the blades and cone in the middle.some veggies could not be cut with this product, you can do better by hand chopping or slicing

Terrible
I just tried this last night. It was a mess, didn't spiralize my butternut squash well, and cut my finger. I'm returning it for a bigger/better product that's only slightly more $. This is just not good.

Not versatile
The pros: small, fairly efficient

The cons: very difficult to clean, food gets stuck, ONLY works on zucchini/squash (I tried a carrot - it was a massacre). So it's too expensive for something that only works on one type of veggie.

Waste of money
Thought this would be fun and I liked the small size. The first vegetable I tried in it was a zucchini. It started out okay, but quickly turned into a massacre. I only got to use 1/3 of the entire zucchini, if that. Next I tried a carrot and had even worse luck with that. It's awkward to turn the vegetables in it as well. It leaves a center stump in each veggie - a complete waste. Save your money and if you have the space, buy a larger one that can do the job correctly.

Saw this on a morning cooking show...
I was halfheartedly watching the chew and went out and purchased it. It does what it's supposed to and I love it! It comes with a lid with spikes to hold the veggies but I didn't feel the need to use it, maybe I will later. Great product

I really like it
I really like the idea of this and it makes really great noodle substitutes, etc. I like that it has two sides for two different size "noodles"

I think my only complaint is the top doesn't really grip the veggies very well and you are left with an inch or so of food that can't be made into a noodle. I just slice that part up on my own, so it's not a big deal. Maybe make the grippers on the top part less recessed so it could help push the last bit of vegetable through.

All in all, great for experimenting with new food ideas but eventually, a better spiraler will probably be purchased.
