I love the idea of this garlic storage/press, but the press function did not work well. I think because the parts are plastic the press lacked the pressure to push the garlic through the holes. I wound up with more garlic juice than garlic bits
Not impressed by this device. The storage area for the garlic holds maybe three cloves max. The actual grinding/pressing of the garlic requires you to crack the handle many times to press out the garlic, which seems to get stuck and press out juice, vs. garlic. The garlic gets stuck in the seem of the flap that closes the press, so you can't really 'store' garlic for later use. Overall the concept seemed great, but doesn't work so great
I was sad to see so many negative reviews because I LOVE my garlic press! I rarely use garlic one clove at a time so this item is perfect for me. I received this as Christmas gift and couldn't wait to go home and use it. I can't see storing garlic in it because you have to crank it down completely to get all the garlic out (not just the juice), but for a garlic lover like me it's perfect for my 2-4 clove recipes. I highly recommend!!
The first time I used this, I was doing a dish that I've made many times that requires 8 cloves of garlic. I put 8 cloves in and started cranking. I will admit, you do need to crank more than you might expect before you start to see garlic coming out. But it was worth it. This came out like a garlic paste. Paste vs minced made a huge difference in the dish. It took it from really good to amazing! I haven't tried to store garlic in it yet
Always looking for handy garlic tools. Saw this and bought for stocking stuffers for all my family and their significant others. Bought one for myself as well. After using - I am taking all the others back. Definitely not worth the money. I am going to exchange for the Joseph Joseph garlic rocker instead.
I have several garlic presses including an OXO which usually makes amazing products. The OXO requires more strength than I have to push the garlic through so I bought this one on sale for $3.99. I found it really easy to push the garlic through and I like that it squeezes out the juice and minces the garlic as you get maximum flavor that way. I have only put two cloves in at a time and it seems to work fine. I have not stored garlic in the press in the fridge yet but that seems like a good feature to me. It has a number of parts but is easy to clean === I think a good press esp for $3.99!!
