The size of this roaster was very impressive. I cooked a 14 pound bird with lots of room to spare. The quality of the roaster and it's rack were excellent. The lifting forks were a nice bonus and worked very well. The price also was outstanding for the quality of the products. And last but not least, clean up was a snap. I would highly recommend this roaster and accessories
I have a set of Sur La Table pots and pans and love them. I was excited to see this offered. It is sturdy, great size and qreat quality. The one thing that detracts from the quality are the meat lifers. They are very lightweight and I don't believe they will hold up to heavy meat. I would pay more to get the quality of the pan in the lifters as well. Pan cleans easily. Never been disappointed in the pans
I was very pleased to find this item since I'd been looking for a good sized roasting pan with a good sized roasting rack. It is perfect for my needs. And, it cleans so easily. I agree that the lifting forks seem to be too lightweight, but they worked fine for the 7 pound roast I cooked. Can they lift a 25lb turkey?...not so sure..but I still love the pan and rack. Thank you
This roaster pan is a must for any large holiday meal or any large meal I roast for that matter. I wouldn't be without it. It has seen me through many a meal. While the weight can be a bit challenging to handle on my own if I have it full, I can still do, I just have to ""power up"" before I lift. It cleans up well and never lets me down
I used this for my Thanksgiving turkey this year. My turkey was only 13 pounds and this roaster could easily hold a much larger turkey. The clean-up was a breeze. As recommended, I didn't use any non-stick spray. Not a problem. Grease, browned bits, etc., washed off easily with soap and water. Same for the rack - stuck on turkey bits came right off
My idea to have 4 turkey legs instead of 2 resulted in having two 10# turkeys and they fit perfectly in this roasting pan and rack. The 4-pronged lifters worked great and were admired by the company watching me remove the awesomely beautiful turkeys out of the oven! Cleanup was a snap and the pan was large enough for a great batch of gravy drippings.
I'm a clean-as-you-go cook and had been using a stainless pan that didn't lend itself well to cleanup. This pan is a breeze to clean. It's sturdy and the rack height above the bottom of the pan is excellent. The lifting tools make short work of a 10 pound prime rib and a 17 pound bird. I make both often and I couldn't be more pleased with this product. The handles are wide and well riveted and a light dusting of cooking spray on the stems makes cleanup even easier. I would highly recommend this pan and the price is surprisingly low for something of this quality.
It was our first thanksgiving in our new house and my husband and I decided to cook turkey. Both of us has no idea how to cook it and we both thought that there's only 1 size of a Turkey and that's a 21lbs. We found the turkey so the next step was getting the stuff needed. I found this with discount and free olive oil and it was perfect!!! Very easy to clean too!
My old roasting pan looked awful, so I decided to get this for the Holidays. It is nice and it cleans up in a breeze. Price is great too. I have also been continuing to use it to bake fish which comes out great using this pan
I generally only use my turkey roaster for...roasting turkeys! But this pan is so great that I used it to cook a large casserole and look forward to many more uses in the future to replace my nasty old roaster. Love the depth (for tasty turkey juices) and that the handles don't stick out a lot, leaving more room in my tiny cupboards.
I had been using a the same roasting pan for the last 20 years, yesterday I threw it away deciding to replace it. I like the dark surface of the anodized finish and Sur la Table named products are always an excellent value
Came back online to order a new roaster and this was on saled for only another hr. so took my time and compared the one I was looking at a few days ago after all was said and done I voted for this one as it had easy cleanup
I have been looking for a quality roasting pan for a long time. When I saw this one, it just seemed the best one for my needs. The reviews also helped me decide. Then, free shipping and additional buy move save more sale came and I was able to fit it into my budget. I can't wait for Thanksgiving!!!
While shopping for roasters on this site, I noticed that this one had better ratings than the more expensive ones offered here. I'm using this for my turkey and small roasted chickens this Thanksgiving.
Combination of size (cook 21-lb turkey), ease of clean-up, solid build, good customer reviews. I like hard anodized aluminum. Safe to 500F. Also good value compared to the French stainless/aluminum pan I was comparing it to (about half the cost).
Can you use this pan on the stovetop to make gravy?
Consumers who bought other roasting pans complained that the nonstick surface started peeling when used on the gas range. I want to be sure the pan can withstand the heat over gas burners.

Best Answer:As long as you follow the use and care instructions-for example not using metal utensils-this pan should be usable on all heat sources except for induction cooktops. Peeling should not be an issue as this pan is hard-anodized and the nonstick surface is not considered a ""coating""
I used this on the electric burner to make gravy. I looked for information on this in the product description but only found info on a temp range of 500 degrees. Making gravy in it didn't seem to harm it when I did this, using moderate heat. I don't know what the long term result will be
Does the rack raise the meat off the bottom of the pan? I can't tell from the photos.
A shopper on Nov 18, 2013
Best Answer:Yes, the rack holds the meat up about an inch above the bottom of the pan. Around edges of the pan there is plenty of room for carrots, celery and onions for the drippings, stock for gravy, added liquid and the meat wasn't sitting in the fluid
I have the Sur La Table® Hard-Anodized Roasting Pan and I use it to roast chicken routinely. The handles tarnish and it is very difficult to remove the tarnish. Is there anything I can do to prevent the tarnish and what should I use to remove the tarnish?
Best Answer:A baking soda and water solution will remove most stains. I use a light dusting of cooking spray on the stems prior to placing the pan in the oven and it keeps them from the majority of stains. Just make sure you don't spray the portion of the handles used to grip the pan.
Best Answer:I can't remember exactly how big of a turkey I served last year BUT I had a total of 10 adults at dinner. I'm pretty sure it was a 20# plus turkey, but I can't guarantee that. I do remember that the turkey fit snuggly, but it tasted great and the clean up was easy. Even used the roast lifters! Hope this helps.....
The turkey would fit, but with all the juices that come out of a turkey, I would use something deeper for a turkey that big or at least keep removing the liquid while it's cooking. This is a great roasting pan, and I love the lifting rack.
