Truly amazing non-stick and worth the price.
I originally bought the Sur La Table non stick cooking pans, but after doing a little more research on their non-stick properties, I grew weary over the use DuPont Coating in the non sticks made by Sur La Table. The ScanPans use Ceramic Titanium which appears superior in safety and durability which explains the much higher price point. We chose to invest a little more in pans that we believe will be safer for our family and last longer as well. I've had the 10 1/4"" skillet for a little over three weeks, and though all I've done is scramble eggs, I couldn't be happier. The cleanup is the first aspect that really jumped out at me. After scrambling 4 eggs and setting the pan aside while I ate, I was able to clean the eggs off the pan by simply running my dry fingers back and forth along the pan. All that was after not even using fat to first coat the pan. The handle is ergonomically designed and thus fits in the hand beautifully. The pan has a nice weight to it. Lastly, ScanPan's ceramic titanium surface makes me believe that this is a lifelong non stick pan that is free of any harmful chemicals that many non-sticks still contain. Added bonus-you can use metal utensils! Though, I must write I've only used silicone out of habit

It's HEAVY!
This was my alternative to a cheap non-stick pan. I was angling for light weight, since most of my cooking happens in cast iron. I bought the 12.5 inch pan.

wow!

It's not lightweight, at seven pounds, but is it ever nice! Now, I'm talking about the shape, because you get real advantage out of all those inches. The handle is comfortable, but you aren't going to be doing any flipping with this pan. It's too heavy.

You might grill three sandwiches. You might make three pancakes at a time.

Whatever you do, you're going to like the pan, until you have to lift it. If you have arthritis, you'll groan. I do. I love the pan.

The surface is silky, cleans up nicely, and you can use metal utensils, and, obviously, all those wood ones you got for the teflon pan you just threw out.

Well, I didn't pay a couple of bucks for this pan, and I won't be throwing it out, and the daughter who will inherit it, loves it, too.

It wasn't cheap, nor lightweight. But it's great, and I can flip a pig in it, if I use two hands

Love my Scanpan!
Nothing beats Scanpan. I use this skillet every single day and it performs flawlessly! The nonstick is incredible, it heats evenly and its not super heavy. Scanpan is my go-to for nonstick cookware.

Work of Art!!
This pan was intended as a Christmas gift for my daughter; however, she could not resist opening and using it before Thanksgiving. She loves it and described it as "A Work of Art".

Best pan I've ever owned
Bought the 12.5 in pan and the 12 in chef's pan and plan on slowly replacing all my pots and pans with Scanpan!! The non-stick surface is amazing, I've made bacon, sauteed pad thai with shrimp, seared a steak and put it straight in the oven in this pan (the list goes on) and I don't know how I cooked without it before. Love Love Love!!!

What is the difference between the IQ, Pro IQ and CTQ models?
Gregg S on May 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I own the Pro IQ and the CTQ because I am moving to an induction stovetop. They all have the same non-stick surface but the IQ is aluminum and won't work on induction. The ProIQ is also aluminum but the base is structured such that it will work on induction. The CTQ is both stainless steel and aluminum and is actually my favorite. It works with induction but it heats evenly as well. They are all good and if induction isn't an issue, you can't go wrong with any of them. I hope this helps.
Do the lids shown on your web site with the Classic skillets also fit the 8"", 9"", and 12"" Pro IQ skillets shown here

In other words, are the 8"", 9"", and 12"" Pro IQ skillets the exact same size as the 8"", 9"", and 12"" Scanpan ""classic"" skillets
A shopper on Nov 19, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Scanpan Pro IQ skillets are slightly larger than the Scapan Classic skillets, but the lids will still fit
Is this BPA free also?
A shopper on Aug 2, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Scanpan is the first producer of nonstick cookware certified to be PFOA free, so it’s safe for your family and the environment.

Scanpan is also BPA free.
How do you measure the Scanpan skillets?

I have two skillets, but am not sure what size they are. I would like to purchase more as gifts, but want to make sure I order the correct size. Do I measure across the bottom silver area, or silver + black area, or across the top
A shopper on Aug 8, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Scanpan is the first producer of nonstick cookware certified to be PFOA free, so it’s safe for your family and the environment.

The measurements provided would be across the top of the pan not including the handle length.
I am purchasing a couple of frying pans for a future induction cooktop. Can you please comment on whether the CTQ conducts heat /cooks better on induction than the IQ? The CTQ is certainly more costly. Thank you!

Scanpan CTQ 2-Piece Skillet Set, 8" and 10¼"
BEST ANSWER: I bought the IQ and it didn't work on my Kenmore induction range even though it said it did. I loved these pans when I had gas range. I'm gonna try the one with the stainless exterior.
what do the Scanpan Pro IQ pans weigh?

Please give weight for both the 10.25 inch and the 12.5 inch pans.
A shopper on Jul 30, 2012
BEST ANSWER: the 12.5 pan weighs seven pounds, and it feels like it weighs that much
What is the height of the sides?
LindsayN on Jun 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Each of these skillets has sides that are 1 1/2"" high
Lid?

Is there a lid that can fit this skillet?
A shopper on Mar 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Although there are not lids made specifically for these skillets, we do carry lids that will fit on them
The weight of the 12.5" pan is 7 lbs? What is the weight of the 10.25" one?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The 12.5 weighs about 5.5lbs; the 10.25 weighs about 4lbs.
