Description

EXCLUSIVE ECO-FRIENDLY Scanpan is the first producer of nonstick cookware certified to be PFOA free, so it’s safe for your family and the environment. Scanpan’s innovative IQ line is suitable for all cooking surfaces, including induction. The patented ceramic titanium surface is safe for use with metal utensils and allows for browning, braising, searing and deglazing—things you can’t do with traditional nonstick. It also requires little to no fat for cooking, so you and your family can enjoy healthier meals.

This 9-piece set includes: 8" and 10¼" skillets, 2.75-qt. sauté pan with lid, 2.6-qt. sauce pan with lid, 6.5-qt. Dutch oven with lid, and the 10¼" steamer insert.

PATENTED NONSTICK CONSTRUCTION
Unlike most nonstick cookware, which relies on a coating, Green Tek™ nonstick cooking surface is created by firing a ceramic-titanium compound into the pan at 36,000°F and twice the speed of sound. The ceramic-titanium particles briefly liquefy and permanently anchor themselves to the pan. A specially formulated nonstick compound is then embedded in the surface, ensuring a lifetime of use without peeling or interacting with food.

SUPERIOR DESIGN FOR EXPERT RESULTS
The industry-leading, squeeze-cast cookware features a 100% recycled aluminum body and a thick base that guarantees quick and even heat distribution and no hot spots. Pan is guaranteed not to blister or peel.

The stainless-rimmed, tempered-glass lid with steam vents makes it easy to view food while it cooks. The lid is tight fitting, so it retains moisture while you cook and keeps food hot until you’re ready to serve. Elegant and ergonomic polished handles are riveted to the pan, so they won’t come loose. Pans and lids are both oven safe to 500°F. Lifetime warranty. Dishwasher safe. Made in Denmark.

LOVE these pans!
My husband got these for me for an anniversary gift and I absolutely love them! Well constructed set allows use of metal utensils and is dishwasher safe...what more can you want? I particularly love the fact that there are three lids which interchange among all the pots and pans instead of a separate lid for each to minimize storage.

Absolutely LOVE these pans
I got the set about 2 months ago and I love them. They perform exactly as advertised plus the handles do not seem to get hot as my old cookware did. I have not used any metal utensals so the jury is still out on that feature. I would recommend using something in between the pans when storing them just to avoid any potential damage.

Fan of Scan(pan)
I love this cookware! The construction is top notch. Handles and pot tops stay cool to the touch. Even on my glass electric range, there are no discernible hotspots, so I get better, more reliable results when cooking. It releases whatever food is left over beautifully and cleanup is a snap.

I have only had my cookware since just before Christmas 2012, so I can't speak to durability, but I fully expect that this is the last set of cookware I will have to buy. The lifetime guarantee offered by Sur la Table alleviates any concerns in that regard.

My only tiny ding has to do with price - which is no bargain. This cookware is expensive, especially when compared to the cookware sets now offered by celebrity chefs that are PFOA/PFTE free for a fraction of the cost of Scanpan Pro. On the other hand, I still run across user reviews with complaints about flaking and scratching for those same sets. And Scanpan was taking steps to address health concerns with nonstick long before it became fashionable. So, if it is at all affordable, I think it is worth it to spend the money to get Scanpan Pro. You really do get what you pay for.

One other thing - in spite of how durable this cookware appears to be, I still treat my Scanpan cookware very gently. I keep stovetop heat to medium most of the time. I don't use metal utensils. Although the pans are supposed to be dishwasher-safe, there is no way my pans are coming within miles of any dishwasher. It takes all of two minutes to wash them out by hand, so that's what I do.

This cookware is wonderful. I highly recommend it

Too small for GE induction range
I have owned a Scanpan set for over a decade and bought a new GE induction range. Time for a new Scanpan set that was induction capable. Only problem is the largest pans in the set are not large enough to activate the largest burner on said GE range. SLT needs to post the size of the base of the pan on all induction capable pots and pans to enable us to shop for pans. The minimum size required on the GE induction range is 11" diameter at the base in order for the sensor to detect a pan.

Great Cookwear
This is my second set of pans from Scanpan. My first set was their 2001 series. I lost them to my husband when I moved out. This new set is even better! They are non-stick, metal utensil durable and dishwasher safe! A big improvement on the early model. The one thing I DON'T like is the vents on the lid, but that is easily plugged up with a Q-Tip. Just wet the cotton, shove it in the hole and VOILA! So, I guess maybe the vents are a boon because you can either have them or not. I love these pans

Awesome for almost 2 years
We had these for almost two years with no issues. Very happy! On two of the largest skillets, the non stick started to come off. Even though it was sold to us as dishwasher and metal utensil safe, we didn't use them. We were also careful with making sure we were not using excessive heat on our induction set up. Having said this, the two largest skillets saw use 3 times a day.

Thankfully, Sur la table has awesome customer service. We were offered a refund or exchange. We opted for an exchange and upgraded to the CTQ.

One thing about the Pro IQ. It was mentioned in another review about the largest induction burner on some GE cooktops. Because the IQ has a plate on the bottom that doesn't cover the entire bottom surface. It will not work on the largest induction burner. The Pro CTQ has the entire bottom of each cookware induction. We are able to now use the largest induction burner with the same size pan.

Gift for daughter who is a very healthy eater. Discription stated you needed very little, if any, oils to cook with and wouldn't scratch with utensils.

P.S. She LOVES these pans!

This is awesome cookware. Can it be used under the broiler?
A shopper on Jul 21, 2012
Best Answer: The industry-leading, squeeze-cast cookware features a 100% recycled aluminum body and a thick base that guarantees quick and even heat distribution and no hot spots.

Pans and lids are both oven safe to 500°F and most Broilers on a standard oven when set on high do not exceed 500 so you can use these under the broiler as long as you have verified the max temperature with your manufacturer.

Sizes of Sauce Pans

How many sizes of sauce pans are in this line of cookware? It looks like a 3 qt. comes with the set but what other sizes are available?
A shopper on Oct 6, 2012
Best Answer: There are currently 3 sizes of saucepans available for this cookware set. There is the 3 qt, which is only available within the cookware set, and the 1.6 qt and 2.6 qt which are sold separately

I am very interested in this set, but I have thee questions:
1. Does this cookware work well on gas stoves?
2. Do the available lids fit the skillets?
3. Will the steamer insert also fit the 2.6 qt. sauce pan?
Sue S on Dec 10, 2014
Best Answer: It does work well on gas stoves.
The lids from the sauce pans won't fit the skillets, but we do sell Classic lids separately.
The steamer is too large for the saucepan.

Is this cookware safe? I'm trying to move to less toxic and wondered about the aluminum aspect?
Kelly Z on Nov 7, 2014
Best Answer: This cookware is the safest you can find as far as nonstick goes. The anodized aluminum has a layer of ceramic titanium bonded to it, so the aluminum itself does not touch the pan. The nonstick layer isn't Teflon based & it's PFOA free.

Do the Scanpan 3qt., 2.6 qt. and 1.6 qt. Pro IQ pans nest well with each other
A shopper on Dec 6, 2012
Best Answer: I say nesting ability is average. I have no trouble nesting the 2.6 qt. saucepan inside the 3qt. saute' pan. The skillets can be stacked, but the top doesn't sit level becuase of the handles. But it's not that hard to arrange the pots in a workable way

Best induction cookware?

Which line of the Scanpan nonstick cookware is best for induction? It appears that the Classic is not recommended. What about the other lines?
CDub on Jun 25, 2014
Best Answer: Classic is the only Scanpan line we carry that is not induction compatible. All other lines on our website are. I'm not sure that any line is more or less induction compatible, but because the CTQ line has a completely stainless steel exterior, I'd say it is most likely to be the most efficient

Are there any cook books or better directions for the Scanpan Pro? The staff at SLT told me that I could use it without fats, but I still worry about ruining food when I'm preparing a meal!! I love my pots and pans, but was disappointed at the very poor, short instructions that came with the set.
Jane B on Sep 28, 2014
Best Answer: There are some recipes on the Scanpan website, but not many. The reason there are so few instructions with your Scanpan set is because there are so few restrictions of use compared to your traditional nonstick. It's completely true that it can be used without fats, that you can use metal utensils, you can use high heat and can even put it in the dishwasher. I know this because I own several pieces and have done all of these things.

Is the Scanpan Pro IQ lighter than the Scanpan CTQ which has the stainless steel exterior?
Karen on Sep 20, 2014
Best Answer: Yes. The stainless steel exterior makes the CTQ line significantly heavier than Pro IQ.
