Awesome do-everything skillet
Got this as a gift for a friend's wedding registry, but I've since used it a couple times. Awesome pan for whatever you can think of - pan searing, frying, sauteeing, even making sauces! Easy to clean, SUPER EVEN heat distribution, non-stick, less maintenance than a traditional cast iron.

One other thing - on some cheaper model enameled cast iron skillets I've used in the past, the enamel has chipped under duress - I'd still never heat an enameled skillet dry (always add oil or ingredients first), but this seems to better withstand heat than other enamel-coated pans I've used.

That's it - awesome skillet. Pricey, but worth it for a pan that'll last you a long time and that you'll use most days (if not most meals).

Now if I could have someone get me one as a gift..

Solid skillet
If you own a smooth top range as I do, this is a great skillet. Use it to sear chops and steaks. Cast iron is heavy; handle with care. Clean up can be a bit of a chore; scouring the inside with coarse salt makes the task easier. Good enamel coating

Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
I bought a Staub cast iron small roaster on impulse in store a few years ago and it has been one of the best items I have purchased for my kitchen. I use it all the time to roast a chicken or a small pork roast--caramelizes nicely and keeps meat moist. So now I am adding this to my kitchen.
