Broke 1st time used. Pretty but NOT functional
I purchased the large mortar and pestle. First time used to grind garlic, palm sugar and other spices it broke. Pressing and lightly tapping on the ingredients basically resulted in a hole in the bowl and a chunk falling off the bottom. Absolutely useless!

Sur La Table are normally good at refunds so am sure I will get my money back but I think this product should be redesigned as it may be shaped liked a pestle and mortar but it sure doesn't function as on
