Pumpkin Spice Bread

Serves: Yields two loaves


  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
  • 3-½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ½ cup water

Full of spice and flavor, this recipe makes enough for two loaves or a beautiful bundt cake.

In the bowl of the Kenwood Kitchen Machine, use the K Beater to combine the sugar, oil and eggs.

Add the pumpkin and mix well. Remove and set aside.

Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, cloves and allspice. Gradually add the pumpkin mixture to the bowl, alternating with water and making sure to beat well.

Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool the pans for about 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. This recipe should yield two loaves. It can also be baked in a bundt pan.
