Originating in Seki City, Japan’s historical center for manufacturing samurai swords, Shun knives are heirs to a seven-century tradition of superior workmanship. Remarkable tools for any serious cook, Shun Classic knives are as functional as they are good-looking.
Every Shun Classic knife is an outstanding example of form fulfilling function. Both sides of their exquisitely forged VG-10 “super steel” blades are clad with 16 layers of high-carbon stainless steel to produce a rust-free Damascus-steel surface that reduces sticking and results in less damage to the food being cut.
A light touch is all that’s necessary for these exceptionally sharp knives. The ebony pakkawood handles, a fused blend of hardwood veneers and phenolic resin, are D–shaped for maximum comfort. Limited lifetime warranty. Made in Japan.
