Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old healing tradition from India that is linked to closely to the teachings and practice of yoga. The ancient art of Ayurveda is based on the concept that one’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being comes from a number of sources, including a healthful diet based on one’s individual constitution. In her two all-vegetarian cookbooks, Amrita Sondhi provides new twists on traditional Ayurvedic recipes, with special emphasis on recipes that are inspired by the growing popularity of whole grains (quinoa, bulgur, and barley), gluten-free meals, and raw foods.
Amrita Sondhi is an Ayurvedic chef, cookbook author, and cooking instructor. She wrote and co-hosted the television program The Ayurvedic Way.
