What you will learn
Menu: Breast of Chicken with Cream - Ratatouille - Grated Potato Pancakes - Crêpes Suzette

Class Description: You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients. --Julia Child

Ready to Master the Art of French Cooking? In honor of Julia Child’s birthday, we’ll use her celebrated cookbook as a guide as you practice searing chicken, flipping potato pancakes and chopping vegetables for summer ratatouille. We’ll show you how to flambé crêpes in citrus syrup for a show-stopping dessert: Crêpes Suzette. Plus, you’ll take home a cookbook (a $35 value) so you can recreate the magic at home.

For each cooking class spot sold Sur La Table will make a donation to benefit The Julia Child Foundation.

What To Expect: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
  • You will work with other students in groups of 4
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
  • You will enjoy a generous taste of every dish
  • Students receive a coupon good for 10% off in-store purchases the day of class
