Kasumi knives are hand crafted in Seki City, Japan by the storied Sumikama family. They have been crafting knives for 27 generations, and champion a unique construction technique that they consider a closely guarded secret.
Kasumi knives—named after the "white mist" visible in the Seki mountains—are forged from 32 layers of folded stainless steel. This provides an incredibly durable and precise cutting edge, which is also beveled at a 15° angle for unparalleled sharpness. Each knife’s beautiful resin handle is made from multiple layers of wood, attached to one another with stainless steel rivets. These kasumi knives strike a powerful balance between luxury and utility—a perfect kitchen companion.
