Mulled Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 6 cardamom pods
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 3 large cinnamon sticks
  • 8 cups apple cider, unfiltered
  • 2, 4-inch orange peels
  • Pinch kosher salt



Procedure

Lightly crack open the cardamom pods and add to a large 3.5 qt pot along with the cloves and cinnamon sticks. Set the pot over medium heat and lightly toast spices for 45-60 seconds or until fragrant.

Add the cider, orange peels, and a pinch of salt and mix to combine. Bring everything to a boil, then immediately reduce to a gentle simmer. Place the lid on the pot and let the cider simmer for 25 minutes. Strain and serve hot.
