Your dreams of pie perfection aren’t just pie in the sky! In Pie Crust 101, you’ll learn how to achieve a flaky, golden-brown crust every time.

Like a student in one of our in-store classes, you’ll work with our amazing chef-instructors to learn how to prepare delicious recipes, hone cooking techniques and more.

We’ll start with an easy master recipe for flaky, buttery pie dough that will provide the foundation for a variety of delicious pies, made first with the traditional method, then with a little help from the food processor.

Next, we’ll teach you the best way to roll out the dough and a handy trick for transferring it to the pie dish without tearing.

Finally, we’ll show you how to create a decorative fluted edge before going over blind baking—a method for pre-cooking your pie shell that’s essential for custard and no-cook pies.

NOTE: This course material is also available in the online course Pie Basics. If you have already purchased Pie Basics, do not purchase this course.

  • A: Our classes are great for cooks of all skill levels—pick whichever one sounds interesting to you.
  • Q: Can I take a course with my friends?
  • A: Each course has an in-class Discussion area—as long as your friends are enrolled in the same class, you’ll be able to post messages and pictures or ask questions. You can also share your progress through the course with links to social media
  • Q: I’m interested in learning how to cook XX, but I don’t see a course for that. Can I make a suggestion?
  • A: Sure! We’re always interested in hearing from you. And keep checking our Courses page—we add new classes on a regular basis.
  • Q: Can I download my class to watch offline?
  • A: Access to the course itself requires a working Internet connection. That said, the recipes and some supplemental course materials can be downloaded for offline use

I bought the Pie Crust class and got the emails confirming it and giving instructions to login. I followed the instructions but when I scroll down to the Pie Crust class to open it, all I get is another chance to buy it. What's up with that?
