Different and delicious!
This smoked brown sugar is awesome! It's sweet like brown sugar should be but there's also an intense (pleasant) smell of smokiness and the flavor follows through as well.

I love topping grilled peaches with it to add another dimension of flavor - it's also great in chili

Giada's secret ingredient
Just read a great write-up about this product in Giada's magazine. She calls it her new secret ingredient & she had a wonderful carrot recipe. We love this on salmon, sweet potatoes and ribs. Also makes a great bbq sauce!

Giada also highly recommended their smoked olive oils

Yummy!
I love this smoky brown sugar... what a great idea!

Boiled some carrots till crisp/tender, drained and added a little butter and the sugar and then heated till sugar melted and served with grilled steak... what great flavor... the smokiness was a nice surprise for our guests and we look forward to trying it out on other dishes... will definitely buy again!

We were at a friends house for dinner last night and he made the most amazing carrots... he said he'd boiled the carrots for a few minutes in a little water and then let the water boil down to nearly nothing and then added the Smoked sugar to finish them off. These were by far the most surprisingly delicious carrots I'd ever eaten... I plan to make them again and again!

can I make my own smoked brown sugar ?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure you can. Every search I tried came up empty. If you could do it yourself, I imagine you'd have to cold smoke it very slowly so it didn't heat up & caramelize.
What wood is smoked with - hickory, cherry or?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It has a strong "bacon" smell, so while I'm not 100% certain, it's most likely 1) hickory, or 2) oak.
Is there any MSG in this product?
A shopper on Oct 8, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No. This brown sugar only contains naturally wood smoked sugar, invert sugar and cane molasses
