Why do 3 star chefs use Staub?
There's a reason chefs like Alan Ducasse, Joel Robuchon, Paul Bocuse, etc. use Staub. Looks great and cooks wonderfully. The matte black enamel interior browns beautifully, and the lid helps keep the dish moist while cooking.

To use the cocotte to best advantage, be sure to preheat it, I typically preheat about 8min.

Much of the flavor of the dish comes from the browning and Staub excels at this

I really love my Staub cocotte. I ordered the marin-blue, but I had to return it to the store as there was a flaw in the enamel. The blue is a beautiful color, and I almost got the same color, but due to how dark it is and the high gloss finish finger prints were very easy to see, so I decided to exchange it for the graphite (grey). Being cast iron, and particularly with the lid on, the pot is heavy, so that should be kept in mind particularly if purchasing it as a gift.

In love! Use this all the time between my oven, stove top & induction burner.
Have bought several other pieces since.
Feel bad for my best friend who has a ton of the other brand. Food stained white insides & no braising 'knobs' on the inner lids.
Staub fan for life!
Recently had a family member ask "what's the big deal about iron & coated iron"?
My answer: "The kids aren't going to fight over theTeflon". (All my pieces ARE listed in my will)

Staub enameled cast iron heats evenly, holds the heat, and is attractive for serving. I own four other pieces of Staub ware and prefer the design to Le Creuset. My 5 quart round Staub is by go-to item for many applications, but it is too small for a few larger stews and braises.

She has a larger Staub Marin-Blue Cocotte and she absolutely loves it, but she will really enjoy this one because it is a smaller size and can be used for everyday cooking. Staub also has the very best quality and it will last for decades! I don't mind paying a little more for the great quality that we always get with Staub. Thank you "Sur la tab" for carrying such great cookware!!!

What are the dimensions of the 2_ qt round cocotte?
A shopper on Feb 27, 2011
BEST ANSWER: 8" in diameter
10 1/4" from handle to handle
This Cocotte is 3 1/2" tall by itself and 4 1/2" with the lid.
Is this Staub cocotte "marin blue," "sapphire blue," "dark blue"? I'd like to match an existing marin blue item, but I'm afraid that color might be discontinued.
A shopper on May 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's Marin.
Does the stated height include the height of the knob? I need to know if the 4-qt size will fit in my toaster oven (the Breville Smart Oven Pro).
A shopper on Dec 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Good afternoon,

My Staub Round Cocotte 4qt measures at 160mm or 6.25 inches in height from the base to the top of the polished knob.

Hope this helps and best regards,

Jacob
Can you use an Immersion Blender in a Staub?
Christy S on Aug 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have used an immersion Blender in my Staub before I just make sure(like in any of my cookware) I don’t scrape/scratch the bottoms or sides.
How much does the 7qt coquette weigh?
A shopper on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I weighed it on a digital food scale. It's 11 pounds for pot and lid. Yes it is heavy, but it cooks food well, is easy to clean, and I love it. I have a medium-sized countertop convection oven and I can fit in just fine. The only problem has been that if it is heavily filled, it bends the oven rack.
