Very handy when rolling out dough
This is a great product. The dough does not stick to the mat and it makes it really easy to size out the perfect size for a pie crust. Easy to clean. I also like that it sticks to the counter so it does not move when rolling out. Great product.

Great pastry mat!
I love the size of this mat, it is 17x24. Since I have tiles on my counter tops I can now utilize that space rather than trying to limit working on a cutting board. I have a tendency to be messy and this mat caught everything, clean up is so easy! Also, there is no longer guessing in the size nor 'roundness' of my dough.
The mat adheres to the counter surface which makes rolling out dough so easy.

Takes on a Tough workout
I use this pastry mat extensively and it takes a beating without showing it. Cleans up easily and stores nicely in its roll sleeve. Saves a lot of counter clean up time.

Great for measuring dough sizes for most any purpose, large enough to comfortably cover the work surface, easy clean up and storage. A very worthwhile purchase.

Love this mat
I just bought one of these to replace my old one, which was having problems with the layers separating. This seems to be a much better quality mat. Used it to make Linzer cookies, which need to be worked while the dough is cold. No problems with sticking. I wouldn't anticipate any problems making pie crusts either. Nice that it has a storage tube (I kept my old one folded up in a plastic bag).

Gift for Beginning Pie Baker
I have used this silicone-type mat for years and took for granted how much easier it made with rolling out the pie dough. When my daughter expressed an interest in learning how to make pies I started off teaching her using my equipment. The pastry mat was a lifesaver. It made it so much easier to get the rolled out disc into the pan. She said she'd never be able to make a pie without it. So I ordered this for her and she loves it.

Works Great!
The mat is really flexible, and sticks well to our wooden countertop. It worked great for rolling thin sugar cookies this Christmas! It feels like durable material as well, and was easy to clean.

Pastry mat
This mat is great and is easy to use. Love all the circle sizes and other markings that make pastry work a breeze. After use, I wipe it off, roll it up and store it in the plastic sleeve it came in.

Because I am always making pies, and for years I have used a linen type of mat with a rolling pin cover. Both items are old and very worn. Thought I would go modern since it is at our fingertips now. I think this item will be perfect for me!

Bought this for my 10 year old son who said he wants 'baking sets' for Christmas. Loved the conversion charts and dough size guide and thought it would be helpful for him as he graduates on to something a bit older than the little kids baking sets.

can this be used in the oven?

can this mat be used as a baking sheet liner in the oven? or it is only used for rolling and sizing the dough? thank you!
A shopper on Jan 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This mat is oven safe up to 500 degrees.
If I cut out cookies or strips of dough on it, will it cause damage to the mat? If so, is there a work-around so that I can use it without damaging it?
Linda on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will damage the mat. Don't do it!
Do you use flour between the dough and the mat?
Janice M on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Looks like from some of the reviews below that some did not use flour and found it to work fine and others found it stuck to the mat. I would assume it depends on the moisture content of your dough, but I would probably use a little bit of flour anyways.
Will this mat roll up for storage?
Katie B on Sep 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It comes in a plastic sleeve with a piece of cardboard used to roll it up in. I just wash and dry it then roll it back around the cardboard and put it back in it's sleeve.
Can this be used to roll out and transfer fondant?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can.
Some people report this as being non stick as advertized, but my experience is that of Diane of Nov 27, 2014, I couldn't get a pie crust rolled out on this to release. Retried with an inordinate amount of flour, more than ever used with cloth pastry cloth, and it was "ok" but, even then, where the flour layer was thin, it stuck a bit. I don't want to have my crusts themselves "encrusted" by a thick layer of unincorporated flour. What gives?
A shopper on Jan 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It may depend on what your pie crust is made of. If it has more moisture in it, it will stick. Mine is the old-fashioned Crisco crust and with just a small amount of four, it doesn't stick.
What are the sizes of the circles?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The circles are 5", 6", 7", 8", 9", 10", 12", 14" and 16". They are all marked on the mat. I love this mat by the way and have been using regularly for the past year. It has held up well and is marked with a grid, as well as a "ruler" in inches and centimeters, a weights conversion chart, dimensions conversion chart and measure equivalents chart. Very handy and easy to clean.
If cutting out cookies on this mat damages it, how do you cut out cookies after the dough is rolled out?
barbara k on Oct 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve never damaged my mat when cutting out cookies. Simple pressure with a cookie cutter easily cuts through the dough. You would have to put quite a bit of pressure to cut through the mat. However, a knife or pizza cutter should not be used. First hand experience :)
It says dishwasher safe ... Has anyone done that? I'd prefer that over just wiping it off, but don't want to damage the mat.
A shopper on Oct 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have never tried! It’s easy to just soak in hot soapy water then rinse and dry. Probably wouldn’t damage the mat but I would worry about the text fading over time.
I used this pastry mat in the oven and it wont come clean any suggestions?
Annette T on Jun 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have not used this in the oven, but have used other silicone mats in the oven. Over time they get slightly discolored, but the biggest issue I have is that the silicone weave holds the fat. To get them clean I use a generous amount of Dawn on a sponge and apply it to the mats and really lather them up. I also store my mats rolled, with paper towels or old dish towels separating them. Hope this helps!
