Sur La Table Silpat ½ Sheet Baking Mat

These Silpat baking mats revolutionized my view of baking. Clean-up and ease of removing my baked products changed 200%, plus I was not spending more money on parchment paper. Now, I don't mind how many times a week we bake, as I know clean up is done in a pinch. Even my daughter is willing to clean them. Our baked goods are never stuck, whether we accidentally burn them or they are perfectly baked. They do stain with use, but it does not affect any baking of foods. We use these mats to bake pastries, cookies, cook oven-fried foods and reheat foods in the oven. I do not miss greasing my pans, accidentally over-scrubbing my non-stick pans, or wrestling with curled parchment paper - those days are over! These Silpat mats brought the fun back into baking

These mats are excellent in all regards. Two important things to note:
1 - when they say hand wash, do not take this lightly; one turn in the dishwasher will do serious harm.
2 - they will eventually wear out, and I've never found a silplat mat that didn't. do not sweat this; I get about 30 months from mine before replacing them... less than a dollar per month, I'll take that deal

My Silpat has changed the way I bake - no more need to cut and wrestle with parchment paper before baking! I like it especially for baking sweet yeast breads and rolls. Cleanup is a snap; simply hand wash with hot, soapy water and air dry. It's important to wash the mat between uses, because it can absorb odors and grease, leading to an ""off"" odor. It is normal for the mat to discolor with use. So far I only have it in the half sheet size, but would like to save up to purchase a variety of sizes. There is also a newer mat made especially for baking bread, the Silpain, that has a black surface to help crust brown as well as perforations to create a perfect crusty finish. Yes, it will eventually wear out, but is well worth the investment and making baking (and cleanup) a breeze

Love these mats! Was using parchment paper but tired of the cutting to fit my sheet pans. My cookies come out amazingly evenly baked so I look like the Expert baker! Would highly recommend to any baker, new or expert! Easy clean up, too.

Bakes cookies beautifully without sticking to the cookie sheet like in the past even when using sprinkles. Cleans easily as well.

I have several of these mats.
Good for baking.
Nothing sticks to them.
Easy clean up.
Dry with dish rag .
Good for rolling out pastry as well.
