Second Purchase
I originally purchased this tea kettle 33-years ago. It finally wore out. I just purchased another one, in cobalt blue.

The Best Teakettle I Could Find
I was consistently ruining my former cheap metal teapots. Also, I suspected that the metal was possibly toxic. Searching for a new one, I noticed that many were lined with (ugh!) tefflon! Finally, I found the Chantal Teakettle. It was worth every penny and was delivered in plenty of time. However, getting used to its "harmonic" call, instead of the usual whistle, takes awhile.

Annoying whistling
I'm not enamored with the whistle. It's not pleasant or melodic. It makes you run for the kettle as soon as the water starts boiling. The handle mit is a necessity! I don't know why a kettle can't be produced with a stay cool handle!

will the inside and spout rust like most cheaper ones tend to do ,or will I get what I pay for finally?
BEST ANSWER: They won't rust if you empty after each use. Seems to be the case with most tea kettles. I have used them for years & feel they are worth the money. Water heats up faster than other kettles too. I miss the white model.

Is the inside stainless steel? The description says "metal".
BEST ANSWER: Mine is packed away right now, but I remember it being enamel covered metal (just like the outside, but black instead of red.)
