Didn't believe this would work
This product far exceeded my expectation. It attaches to all my pots and pans with a strong enough grip to even allow you to drain a family sized pan of potatoes. Takes up so little room in the dishwasher and cupboard that it succeeds on every front. I liked it so much I took one back with me to my home in the UK

Works Every Time
This strainer fits all of my pots and pans and can handle large volumes of food, including large, heavy pasta batches. I use this now instead of those over-sized colanders. It secures firmly and is wide enough that I can pour all of the water out without worry of anything tumbling out. I do use my tongs to unclip it from the pot as the water has poured over it and it can get a bit hot. I could wait 2 minutes and it would be cool enough to touch, but who's got time for that?

Didn't think it would actually work
I bought this a few months ago and really didn't have high expectations. I thought it would just fall off under certain conditions, and I would be left with my meal in the sink. I was absolutely wrong.

I use this on small, medium and large pots. I even use it on cans to drain things like beans. It works perfectly on everything and it's a quick hand wash for me to clean up.

So convenient and it works!
In the past I would literally avoid making pasta because I hated cleaning goopy colanders (I make a lot of GF pasta). I've had this for about 3 weeks now and I've used it quite a few times with various kinds of pasta cooked in a 5 qt stock pot. It fits the pot perfectly and it's super strong! Never slipped or moved when I was using it. I did have a little spillage with a pound of small shells, but I don't think it was any more casualties than when shaking a colander. I'm sold and I'm definitely going to buy these as gifts for my friends and family.

Works well
I never use a strainer and always just held the lid at the pot to drain the water. Not always easy. This is a nice in between. If the pot is too big, though, what you're draining could sneak over the edge at the side - have lost a few pieces of pasta this way, but I still like it!! Easy to use and easy to clean.

My Best Purchase of the Year!!!
This product is wonderful. I can use it on any pot or can. It also works when draining a can deeper than a tuna can. It is in every load of dishes I run. It is my favorite go to item which I even purchased as a gift for a friend of mine.

Excellent kitchen gadget
It's makes straining pots very easy. Now I can use 2 hands to hold the pot - no more fumbling trying to steady the pot with one hand and hold the strainer with the other hand :) Excellent invention - much appreciated!!

Is this BPA free?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, this is not BPA free.
Does this item come in other colors, like white, blue, or green?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Red and green were available when i purchased in December 2017.
Can you strain spaghetti? Does the spaghetti slide through the holes?
A shopper on Jan 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I just strained spaghetti the other day. No spaghetti slid through the holes. The clip holds tight to the pan or bowl and strains with the greatest of ease. And clean up is very easy. A great buy.
Does pot need to have a lip to secure? I have circulon which has no lip.....
A shopper on Dec 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: NO, it just clips on (like a chip clip) to side of pan, the part that clips to the pan has silicone grippers that grip, so it doesn't slip or slide off. I bought one 2 years ago & love it!
Can this strain very small pasta, like stars?
A shopper on Aug 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I haven't tried it on star shaped pasta, but I have used it to drain whole grain rice, and it works very well.
Will this work to drain grease from ground beef after browning?
Jacqui L on Dec 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It does work, however, it was a little small and messy. I had a pound of ground beef in a fry pan and it was a struggle to ensure the beef did not fall out around the strainer. Also the hot grease ran down the clip, so it was messy when trying to remove from the pan. I will not use again for straining grease; stick with water and smaller pots.
Does it work for draining orzo?
Alicia S on Sep 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Probably, but for such a small pasta, any large amount would probably overflow the catcher, leaving you with a mess. I think it easier to use a fine mesh colander.
Does it work for rice?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have used it for rice. Some of rice might get stuck in the holes but a wooden spoon easily takes care of it. This is actually one of my favorite tools. I've bought several as gifts.
Will the clip scratch non-stick pans?
Kristen H on Jun 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use mine all the time in various pots and have never had an issue with scratches. It is light weight and easy to clip on and off I would just make sure to open the clip when removing and not yank it off.
Does this work on Le Creuset Dutch oven?
A shopper on Jul 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes! This is the handiest little contraption. I was skeptical when I first purchased it, but. It works. So much easier than using a colander.
