Experienced bakers with over 125 years of combined pizza production produce each dough ball using only the best ingredients, resulting in a frozen dough that offers exceptional flavor and uniform consistency so your pizza is always its best. Available in four or eight pieces.

The Lamonica family has been in the pizza business since 1954. Louie “Gigi” Lamonica, an Italian immigrant educated as a lawyer, realized that America needed pizzaiolos more than it needed lawyers and started the family pizza business. The Lamonica family soon owned and operated pizzerias from Massachusetts to Maryland, and in order to ensure a consistent product they produced the dough in Brooklyn and shipped it to each pizzeria. In 1980, they opened Lamonica’s NY Pizza in Los Angeles, and continued this practice, bringing real NY-style pizza to L.A.

Note: There is an additional shipping charge of $20 on 8-piece dough orders; no additional shipping charge with 4-piece orders. Orders fulfilled by Lamonica’s California production facility. Product is shipped frozen and needs to be refrigerated as soon as possible.

Care & Usage Show

  • For best results, thaw frozen dough overnight in the refrigerator. After thawing, place dough in a large, lightly oiled bowl, then cover with a clean dish towel and allow to proof at room temperature for at least 1½ hours. Proofing times vary depending on the season and location—proofed dough should be soft to the touch and still have a slight chill. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the dough should read approximately 75°F. Once dough is fully proofed, stretch or roll it flat and top with your favorite ingredients. Allow to rest approximately ½ hour, then bake. For same-day use, leave dough at room temperature for approximately four hours prior to baking (times will vary based on season and location)

I will NEVER make dough from scratch again!
I have always made my own dough, I have tried pre-made from the high end grocers, even asked local pizzerias to let me buy dough...and always been dis-satisfied with the end result I had heard Lamonica's was good - but it is not -- it's great! This dough is magic! 6 hours to defrost and it is perfect. Great chew, easy to work with, and perfect proportion. Great find

Satisfies my urge for NYC pizza dough!
Wonderful! Easy to use, easy to store, fast shipping. Cooks up beautifully and tastes great. Easier than making my own and so much better than restaurant pizza.

Awesome Dough!
I use to purchase pizza dough from BJ's but they quit selling it a few months ago..Could not find anything local so started searching online....not alot of options but came across this site and brand....Must say i am extremely pleased. Only purchased 4 balls the first time to try it out but will be ordering another 8 already...only been two weeks. Makes an awesome pie!!

Makes great pizza
Dough is easy to roll and tastes great. A bit expensive for what you get however. Especially when you can go to a local pizzeria and buy a dough ball for $2.50 and the difference is minimal if at all.

Arrived partially thawed
Apparently my order was sent with dry ice but returned by UPS. Then it was overnighted without the dry ice. So the dough balls were slightly thawed. However, there was a note of apology for the late delivery with an extra order of dough balls. So I think the company was doing the best they could, but the dry ice was somehow a problem. The UPS guy told me that someone paid "a lot of money" to have it delivered before 9:00 am. I ended up refreezing the ones that were still mostly frozen and am planning to use up the two that were almost completely thawed. So we will see.

BEST ANSWER: According to John Lamonica, typically for a thin pizza, you can cut the 1 lb dough ball in half and make two 10"" pizzas, or use it whole and make one deep dish 10"" pizza. But overall, it's tough to say because its really left up to the user's preference

BEST ANSWER: You can expect to get 2 10" pizzas out of each ball. I will add, we have been doing pizzas on the grill (on pizza stones) for several years. We have tried a lot of different dough, both home made and purchased. This is BY FAR the best! I ordered 8 balls and will definitely be buying more
How long can the dough be stored in freezer without affecting the quality?

BEST ANSWER: We usually order 8 balls at a time and the last few are usually frozen for 2 or 3 months before we use them. We have a no issues and they are as good as day one. Hopes that helps!
