We used to use these in culinary school for impressive desserts. You can use these as individual ice cream cakes, brush melted chocolate in them and fill with a mousse or use as a chocolate bowl and fill with fresh fruit for a cute presentation. I can't wait to make cakes and use a mirror glaze on them. The possibilities are endless!

What is the diameter of each semisphere?
Cony on Oct 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Each semisphere is 21/2 in wide and 1 in deep
I bought these to bake "peach cakes" where you place 2 spheres together, with peach filling between, to create what will resemble a peach. My current pans stick so I was intrigued and thrilled by these. I haven't tried them yet because it seems to me that when you add the batter, the weight will push down on the sphere mold and hence result in a flat dimple. Before I waste my time, can you confirm that they will indeed hold up to the weight of regular cake batter, and bake to a true spherical shape? Many thanks!
ROSANNA D on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have only used this for making mousse semi-spheres which is very lightweight. I worried that the filling would not be heavy enough to retain the shape but the molds worked beautifully. They also released easily after freezing. You might want to check the lekue website.
I already bought one silicone and it wasn't what I wanted BUT my question is--IS THIS ROUNDED AT BOTTOM?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this mold is rounded at the bottom.
