"Great pan, very long handle"
This pan looks great and I was excited to use it but alas, its handle is so long and angled upward to the extent that it would not fit at all in my broiler and barely fit on a diagonal in my oven, if no other shelves are loaded. I'm going to spend a little more for one that has two small handles instead of one giant handle

One Use, Pitted
On size I have to say this pan is excellent and really rounds out the standard All-Clad collection I received as a gift. However, one browned chicken later, this one doesn't seem to be quite as sturdy as the others-- there's more pitting in the bottom of this pan than in the pieces I've owned five (or more) years. I'm not sure what the difference is in this one and those, but I wouldn't throw away my packaging (like I did) until you've used it a few times. The size and shape are great, though; it works like a giant skillet.

Love it!
I can't say enough great things about this pan. It's size and shape make it the ultimate go-to pan for pretty much everything. I used it just the other night to sear and simmer and then threw it in the oven to braise...amazing! As with any All-Clad item, it is build to last and the tri-ply construction enables even heat distribution. Buy it, you won't be sorry

Great Everyday Pan!
I use this pan on a nightly basis - it is perfect for roasting veggies. I love how the stainless steel gets the perfect caramelization on my onions. I'm planning on buying this pan for my friends wedding next month even though she didn't register for it. Its such a great size to make enough food for left overs (I hate a crowded pan). I definitely recommend!

Very versatile
This is a great basic pan, I find myself reaching for it nearly every time I cook. It is deep and wide enough to make most meals for a small family. I'd recommend this pan for beginners that aren't sure which pan to use for new recipes - just use the weeknight pan and you'll be fine. It's a little heavy, but it needs to be in order to be a great product, and the handle is quite long, but it stays cool while cooking.
One note on cleaning - I used Barkeeper's Friend (as recommended) and it scratched the interior a little. I've never had that issue with Bon Ami (a similar powder cleaning product that smells much better and is found at grocery stores).

What a great pan!
I love this pan!!! The high sides were a strong selling point. I love All Clad's quality. I used this pan as soon as I received it. It was wonderful! I own many All Clad products and this is one of my favorites. I would recommend this pan to anyone.

Brilliant pan!
I love multi-functional pans. When one pan can serve the purpose of 2, 3, or even 4 pans I am thrilled. This is one of those pans. It's a skillet, saute pan, saucier, braiser and soup pot all in one. All-Clad quality is best-in-class hands down so you know this pan is built to last. This is a great pan for one pot cooking. This pan will not disappoint.

Great pan with lots of uses.
This is a fantastic pan. I've found it most useful when you need higher sides and more liquid volume than a standard skillet. You can sauté, brown and then simmer in the same pan or put it in the oven if you like. It cooks evenly and the second handle is a nice aid for lifting when it's full and heavy.

Dimension is given as 13"" excluding handle. But the sides are sloping. What is the diameter of the pan that actually sits on the cook-top? That is, the bottom of the pan

I have disappointing experiences with using stainless steel skillets for any meat: the meat invariably sticks to the pan, no matter what type of oil or butter you use. Is there a specific proofing procedure that you have to use to make the pan suitable for use with meats or eggs?

BEST ANSWER: Before you begin searing the meat, it should have a chance to warm up a bit at room temperature, say for 20 minutes or so, before you put it into a hot pan. Cold food going into a hot pan is a sure recipe for major sticking. Pat the surface of the meat dry before placing it in the hot oil. This is also a major problem that can cause sticking and a lot of sputtering oil. Make sure you use a cooking oil that will tolerate high heat such as canola oi or extra light olive oil. Use enough oil to lightly cover the bottom of the pan. Preheat the pan before adding the cooking oil because it takes the metal of the pan longer to come up to heat than it does the cooking oil. When the pan has had a chance to preheat a bit, then is the time to add the cooking oil. Allow the oil to heat up until you see the surface of the oil shimmer and creep across the bottom of the pan before you add the meat. Once the meat is in the pan, leave it alone--don't move it-- and allow it to sear for 2 or 3 minutes. It is supposed to stick to the bottom of the pan initially. This is all part of the browning process. If you see a bit of brown showing along the bottom sides of the meat, gently try to move the meat to see if it has released from the pan. When it has browned properly, it will release on its own. Check the color on the browned side. If it is to your liking, then turn the meat and, again, leave it alone and in place for at least 2 minutes to allow the browning process to happen. Once it releases on its own and the color is to your liking--success! If you are still having problems with the meat sticking, you may be allowing your pan to get too hot . If the oil smokes, the pan is definitely too hot. Ease back on the heat a bit. All Clad products are fantastic for creating a great sear on meat. If you follow my suggestions, I think you'll have less sticking problems.

BEST ANSWER: This is a hybrid between a saucepan (pot) and frying pan. It's great for making braises and allows more of your food to have contact with the surface for browning.
How deep is the pan? (Height given probably includes handle, rather than depth of the pan itself.)

BEST ANSWER: I use barkeepers friend to clean the pan. It works pretty well. I had a person tell me to use a cut lemon half on the pan with the cleaner to get the spots off. I have not tried it
