Wonderful alternative to traditional bakeware
I don't normally write reviews, but I loved these paper loaf molds and needed to share my opinion of them. I purchased the 6"" loaf pans to make zucchini bread as favors for a baby shower. Not only did they look adorable all packaged up (I packaged the bread loaves into cellophane bags and tied a ribbon on the end with a recipe card attached), but they baked so evenly and literally fell out of the mold when you flipped them over. The bread could not have been more moist. I plan to order more to have on hand for last minute gift ideas...I think a nice mini loaf of bread would make a great teacher's gift for the holidays

Best product on the market
Perfect size for gift giving. I receive many compliments not only for its good taste but for its very professional look. Living on an island paradise limits shopping possibilities--thank goodness for Sur La Table. Items ordered are received within days--all packed with care and undamaged. I've been ordering baking supplies from them for years now and will continue in the future.

Great Bake & Take For Quick Breads Especially.
Hunny Is The Chef & Tried A New Quick Bread Recipe. Very Thick & Dense Batter. It Took 1 & 1/2 Hours To Bake & Was Terrific! No Burned Places Anywhere & Higher Sugar Batters Can/Do Burn. Recommend For Useage When Attempting To Receive A ""Pan"" Back And Never Does Return

Great product
These are a very nice quality, and they serve their purpose well. They are great for when you have a ton of gift breads. Honestly though, if I only have a few gifts to give, I will give the breads in nice pans, for the recipient to keep, as you should never, EVER ask for your pan back, as in the south, that would be considered 'unwomanly', impolite, and everyone would think you don't know what you're doing as a homemaker. But, like I said, if you are giving MANY gifts where a nice pan would overload your expenses, this is a very nice option

These were a little smaller than I thought they would be, but they ended up being the perfect size. I put them on a cookie sheet to make sure everything stayed in (it did). They saved a lot of time and looked lovely.

Do you need to grease these paper pans?
A shopper on Apr 20, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Bake gifts right in the package with these attractive, greaseproof paper loaf pans. Best of all, there’s no need to empty or wash the baking pans. Can bake up to 450°.

It is not necessary to grease these paper pans.
What are dimention of the loaf pans?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Bake gifts right in the package with these attractive, greaseproof paper loaf pans. Best of all, there’s no need to empty or wash the baking pans. Can bake up to 450°.

The dimensions are...

6" long, 2 1/2" wide, 2" deep
8" long, 2 1/2" wide, 2" deep
Are there pinholes on the bottom of these pans?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2011
BEST ANSWER: 4 tiny holes that do not affect baking. I put my these on a cookie tray and then pop it in the oven. Easy to remove.
can paper molds be used for cheesecake recipes?
A shopper on May 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure how you bake your cheesecake, but if you set it in a pan of water, I would say no. unless maybe you're wrapping it in aluminum foil before hand. The paper loaf pans do have pin-sized holes on the bottom, so unless your batter is pretty thick, it might seep out. I use these for baking fruitcake, the batter is not very runny.
Can you freeze in the paper loaf pans?
A shopper on Nov 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes good for unexpected guests. Done this for ten years, let cool completely then put in freezer bags, enjoy! Pamila
Are these biodegradable?

Are these biodegradable/compostable?
A shopper on Feb 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: These disposable, stand alone paper molds are completely biodegradable
So do the strings or twine (for tying around the cake) come with these pans?
Janice M on Nov 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You get the paper loaf pans alone. That way you can get creative with your presentation. Holiday cello bags or brightly colored ribbons. I also like that you can order as many or as few as you need. Happy gift giving.
can you use these to bake loaves of yeast bread?
Alicia V on Sep 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry I wasn't home, no the yeast expands to a blood, but the panimold is wonderful. The outer shell is poplar with a thin liner so pretty for gifts. You can get them from la sur table also, not expensive. Have used them for 15 years , along with the paper ones you asked about. I've made fresh pumpkin breads, cram berry breads and zucchini breads all made with the real substances. Fresh pumpkin meat, fresh cramberry, just can't beat it. I buy the cranberries in the fall and stash for the year in the frezer, get some pumpkins and scrap the meats and freeze. Enjoy I have a special trick for cranberries staying moist if you want it. Pamela ,
Scalloped edge?

On the single picture of the loaf pan there is a scalloped edge but the stack of pans doesn't seem to show the scalloped edge. So is the edge straight or scalloped?
A shopper on Oct 18, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The edges of the pan are straight. The scallop you see is on the long side of the pan... the edge is curled over to the side and glued to the side with the scallop design. See pic below
Somebody posted these pans are only 2" wide ??? Really --- ??? Must be an error.
Also how many loaves can you get out of a standard banana bread recipe if using the 6" or 8" since the are not very deep !
A shopper on Jul 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, 2" wide ON THE BOTTOM. They are tapered. I admit that they were smaller than I really wanted. I will not order these again. I found others that are a better size at another site that also have a lid. But, this was during the holidays. I don't know if those are still available. I would guess 2 - 3 loaves per batch in this size pan.
where are they made?
A shopper on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are made in Europe.
Do you have to grease pan?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, you don't have to grease the pan. I use for holiday fruitcake, banana bread, quick and easy. Just love that they make a great presentation when gifting and peels right off for easy slicing. Only pans I use when a loaf pan is required.
Do i still need to place it in a loaf pan?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, I have made both yeast bread and banana breads in them and they do not leak. I put a piece of tinfoil under to make sure.
Do I need to bake these on a cookie sheet or put them directly on the oven rack?
A shopper on Dec 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am 62 and quite the seasoned baker. Always place something under whatever it is you are baking. Use a cookie sheet covered with foil (dull side up) and place smaller items on top. Sometimes, we don't think we have filled it too full, but it happens. This will prevent a lot of catastrophes. Consider it "insurance". And, cleanup, if it is needed, is a breeze. Better to be safe than sorry. Who loves cleanup anyway?
Would this be appropriate for baking a sticky date pudding?
fiona b on Jan 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used these for years and love them. I use them for nut breads, and every year for my Christmas fruitcake. If you just bake the sticky toffee pudding and don't pour over the sauce, then I think these would be fine. If you pour the sauce over it to store, then I wouldn't use them. When I make my sticky toffee pudding, I just keep the cake with minimal sauce over it , then heat up more to pour over to serve. Hope that helps.
How many come in a package?
A shopper on Apr 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unless they've recently changed, you buy them individually. So you can just purchase as many as you need.
Can you bake the Sur La Table Gingerbread loaf in the large one. The Gingerbread loaf says it’s 18.5 Oz.?
Brenda B on Nov 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, not sure I understand the question. I have not made gingerbread in these molds but they are great in general. I have been using them for years.
Can u cook frittatas in them?
A shopper on May 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You could make frittatas in them as they are oven safe. However, I would chose the round paper tart-like paper pans to offer more surface area and room for toppings. These containers are perfect for things like sweet breads, mini meat loafs, baked casseroles and individual lasagnas. Good luck!
Can I use Paper Loaf Pan to bake Pate(French) in the water bath?
Lisette F on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it holds the moisture in but won't hold up to water bath. Just a trick I found out years ago, when making a cramberry bread, have the camberies frozen when you put into the dough. It lets the berries stay moist during the baking and they burst with juice when one bites into the bread. Jummm,! Ever so good!
Hi, is this material recyclable?
A shopper on Feb 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would think it would be as it’s made from a heavyweight paper type material. I give mine as gifts so I don’t recycle them at my own home.
Is there any baking time adjustment?
A shopper on Dec 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I did not adjust the time while using the paper molds. I have also used these for pumpkin bread and they cook just like a glass container. The paper is sturdy, easy to transport or mail the pumpkin bread to relatives. I wish they sold more sizes in the store where I shop because if I place an order, the postage costs more than the molds.
Can I bake fruit cake in these?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have successfully baked my fruit cake in these pans for the past 5 years. They make a fabulous container for the cakes. The only thing I would say would be that the cakes due tend to back a bit faster, so I just adjust my bake time down by 10-15 minutes. Hope that helps!
Want to know can I bake Pate(French) in Paper loaf Pans in Water Bath in the oven?? Thanks, Lisette
Lisette F on Nov 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I used them for breads, such as zucchini or banana bread. I am not sure that they will survive a water bath. The inside is coated and works fine with a dough. I would suggest getting one package and testing to see if the water bath causes the pan to disintegrate or not.

Good luck!
Will the bread/cake brown properly when baked in the paper?
A shopper on Aug 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes! I was sceptical about these molds, but bought them on the recommendation of a friend. I made 10 loaves of zucchini bread for gifting, and every one turned out great. The following week, I made some in foil pans that I got from the grocery store - they did not turn out so well. Will definitely be buying more of these in the future.
I purchased the paper ring molds for my fruitcakes.I love them but having problem with cakes sticking on bottom. What should I do?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have a rather...esoteric solution. I line the paper pans with wax paper because I spend a month soaking them with brandy or rum before removing the wax paper, replacing them in the pan and shipping them off for the holidays. Just a thought.
Do these have see thru lids that I can buy separately?
A shopper on Sep 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've never seen any offered. These are paper, so not sure how well a lid would work with them. If you need a lid, you might have to go with those aluminum loaf pans.
When cooking fruit cake do you have to line these paper pans with paper because of the long cooking time?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I use these for fruitcake and don't line or grease them, which is the beauty since I hate doing either when I bake. My batter is pretty thick so I don't know if that makes a difference. When done, the fruitcake might be a bit harder to remove from the pan, but the pan survives well and I can still remove the cakes intact. Since the pans are smaller in volume than a regular loaf pan, I can reduce the cooking time as well and get about 6 in the oven at a time. It really cuts down the time, from a whole day affair to just several hours.
I am using these for the Gingerbread Loaf which says its 18.5 oz. on box. How many loafs will these hold especially the 8 inch?
Brenda B on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I bought the paper loaf pans as gifts. I believe that they are smaller than the bake pans that I use at home. I think that your mix would make 2 loaves (8 x 4) or (9 x 5).
what company are these made by?
A shopper on Jun 28, 2016
What exactly is it made of ? is it organic paper? Is it chemicalty treated at all?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's paper, that's all I can tell you
