Nice but not as advertised
I just received my burgundy Le Creuset covered baker. The color is perfect for my kitchen and it seems well made. But, beware, it is NOT made in Portugal as indicated on Sur la Table's website. The box in which it arrived clearly is labeled "Made in China". I tend to avoid products for cooking which are made in China, and am disappointed that SLT has misleading and incorrect information on the website. Not sure yet if I'll return it.

This is a little more expensive than I wanted to go. The cheaper models didn't have. Lid that would go in the oven.

How deep is the actual baking dish without the lid?
A shopper on Oct 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This baking dish is 2 1/2" deep.
I though Le creuset was made in France? Why do we get references to "made in Portugal" and/or China or Thailand?
linda p on Sep 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Le Creuset cast iron is made in France, but this is not the case with stoneware. The stoneware is made in various places, such as China, Thailand & Portugal, as you mentioned.
Can this cover go in over & microwave for cooking OR re-heating?
Marcy K on Nov 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My husband says that it will damage the microwave if you put anything except glass or paper in it. I guess I have never tried anything else.
