Great product
This machine was VERY easy to use, with almost no set-up. I watched a Youtube video where it was recommended so I knew exactly how to make a perfect pasta. It was very easy and cleanup also a breeze. The taste and texture of homemade are really worth the extra effort. The product description didn't make it clear that this comes with the attachment for both linguini and spaghetti so it's all you need to get started

Best pasta
Just purchased this pasta machine and had seen it demonstrated once before. It was a little intimidating at first. The instruction manual is very thorough and explained the entire procedure
well. My first batch was such a success! The taste of the fresh pasta was delightful

Great basic machine
This pasta machine is well made and easy to use. Instructions are included and once you get used to how to use the machine its very easy. The description of the product on this site is misleading. An attachment for linguine and spaghetti is included, no additional attachments need to be purchased separately to get started

Heavy, solid construction and easy to use!
After weeks of searching, I settled on the Marcato machine, mainly because of price. The first thing I noticed upon removing from box was the quality of materials used in making it. The assembly was self explanatory and consisted of roller, attachment (can stay on or be removed), the vise which secures it to counter top and the turning handle. My 9 year old uses it all the time and makes perfect pasta. There are additional add ons, such as motor and other pasta attachments available for purchase. Cleaning is easy but a bit time consuming. You have to used a brush and rag. No water! I highly recommend this pasta machine.

I'm in Italy!
After having wonderful pasta in Italy this summer I was determined to learn to make some myself. How difficult can it be?
Well, I tried it and made the most wonderful spaghetti ever! It took about 45 min. as I was learning but I can now see that in 30 min (including the resting time) we can have fresh pasta. and it was FUN. If you love to cook this is the right machine for you. There are so many videos on You Tube to help you with the process. And the drying rack was wonderful too

So easy and fun
Super easy. Easy cleanup.

The best machine out there
I received one of these as a high school graduation present. I'm now 40 years old, and I make pasta regularly. So you can do the math to understand what a well-built and solid piece of machinery this is. It's simply the first and last pasta maker you'll ever need.

Love my Pasta Machine
This machine is very sturdy and easy to use. I made homemade fettuccine for the first time and it turned out perfect. I hope the fun of using this pasta maker never wears off.

Works Great
Works great. Seems like there should be something easier to use for the handle, not hitting ever on the bar that holds it to the counter.

Maureen J on Dec 15, 2018
My brother wanted a pasta maker for Christmas. I chose this one because it is pretty versatile with all the add-ons he can get for it. I also checked it out in-store and it was sturdy, and the adjustment knob was very smooth. Better than some of the cheaper models I checked out.

I chose Sur La Table because I know he has taken classes from you, as well as shops with you. Also, I wanted to pick a place that he could return as needed and get what he really wanted if necessary.

I chose this pasta maker because I believe that Sur La Table chooses excellent brands. I chose this one over the larger one because this particular machine has several attachments for it. I am giving this as a gift and was planning on giving the recipient a gift card to Sur La Table so that she can pick out which attachment she would like to add.

I took an Italian cooking class at your Sonoma store and used this during the class. Now I want to make homemade pasta at home in Montana and I need the machine to make ravioli.
PS I had a fabulous teacher and she said it was her first class. She obviously loved what she was doing because her class still has me thinking about how much fun it was to make pasta.

does this machine come with the roller that will cut the strips of spaghetti or do you have to buy an additional roller?
A shopper on Feb 11, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It comes with 2 widths. I would call them spaghetti and linguini.
Where can I find the Marcato dough recipe book?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: There was a booklet included in the box.
Can someone please describe how the table clamp works?

Does it clamp onto the EDGE of a table/counter top? or does it suction to the surface so I can put it anywhere I'd like?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2013
BEST ANSWER: It clamps your machine to the edge of a table or countertop. There is no suction.
How does one clean the pasta maker? Ours says NOT to use water but rather "vaseline oil." What is vaseline oil?
A shopper on Feb 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I've never heard of that either, but if you need to use oil, I would use food grade mineral oil like you would use on your wooden cutting board. Never use water! Just dust off the flour and any pasta pieces left over after use and you're good for stirage until next time.
What are the attachments?
A shopper on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Lasagne, Fettuccine, and Tagliolini
What;s the difference between the 150mm and the 180mm pasta machine?
MEETA M on Mar 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The 180mm means how wide the pasta machine is. 180mm is about 7 inches.
My countertops have a rounded edges. Is that going to be a problem for clamping the device to my countertop?
Holly E on Mar 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It shouldn't be a problem as long as you have enough depth under there. The counter has to have a lip. Mine are rounded and it works fine. It's a fun tool!
ravioli too?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have the ravioli attachment and it works great!
Do you need to buy a drying rack for the pasta?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No. I was taught to put a mix of flour & semolina on a sheet pan and put the pasta on there until you use it.
I tend to make it fresh and use it the same day. You can freeze after it dries though.
i have the raviolissima attachment that was passed down with wooden rollers. Will it fit this pasta maker?
A shopper on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it will.
The pasta dough seems to be getting stuck inside the machine. Does anyone know how to get it out?
A shopper on Dec 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Apparently you have to make sure you don't run the pasta maker under water. You are meant to wait until it drys and then just use a toothpick or something to clean it off. Also I have learned the quality of your pasta recipe makes a huge difference with this. Semolina and durum flour and some instruction from an old Italian will help with getting a pasta consistency that will be smoother and more stretchy and less likely to plug up the maker.
After using the rollers up to 6. When I tried cutting fettuccine it got stuck. How do I get it out?
Grace R on Feb 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Do you mean the fettuccini attachment got stuck on the main machine, or pasta got stuck in the fettuccini cutters?
If the attachment is stuck on, just keep wiggling it until it slides off. If there's pasta stuck in the rollers/cutters just run more pasta through it to clear it all out. Never run water over it or it will rust.
Put the dough through attachment and first one cut through..but when I did the rest of the dough, the strands didn't cut through all the it the dough?
A shopper on Apr 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sounds like the dough is too wet, dust it with flour before running it through.
How wide can you make the sheet of pasta?
A shopper on Feb 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: About 6 inches wide
How do I convert the amount in the recipes in the enclosed booklet? They are in gr.
A shopper on Jun 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You could convert the recipe from metric or measure the ingredients, but it's easier to just find another recipe using non-metric values. Pasta ingredients vary from region to region in Italy, and in the end the only thing that really matters is the consistency of your dough--not too wet, not too dry--and your pasta will be incredible.
Can someone please tell me what the widest strip of dough can be produced by the Atlas 150 machine [for use in making ravioli]?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 150mm or about 6 inches is the maximum width of the pasta. My sheets are wide enough to work with the typical ravioli maker pans that are 2 raviolis wide. If you want BIG raviolis you will only get 1 per width.
how do I make spaghetti dough?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My Grandmother makes her pasta from eggs and flour, that's it! :) She uses more egg yolk, than whole eggs but I'm sure everyone has their different style. It's easy and I'm sure there are hundreds of recipes online. Good luck!
how much does the pasta machine weigh?
A shopper on Jan 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: According to Amazon about 3.3 lbs, and shipping weight is 6 lbs.
I just found a Marcato noodle maker in a friends barn. It is clean, still in the box but has some slight rust on the teeth. Since I can’t clean the machine with water will running dough through it be enough to oil and clean it?
Debbie M on Nov 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I've always cleaned mine by running a small amount of dough through it and discarding this used dough. Due to the rust, you might also want to use a new toothbrush, dipped in a small amount of olive oil, to scrub the rust. Then wipe the teeth with a paper towel to see if this removes some of the rust.
how much it weights?
Sofia I on Jan 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The whole box with everything included weighs 6 lbs. Just the main roller and hand crank weigh 4 lbs. There are no plastic pieces. It's made of 100% steel and forged aluminum. All high quality pieces.
My counters have rounded edges. Will the pasta machine clamp work on this type of edge?
Holly E on Aug 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes - but you may need to use a rubber glove to tighten it down properly. You can also slide a thin stiff chopping board underneath the pasta maker to "create" a flat top. It's a great easy machine to use and is a lot of fun to use for creatively filled raviolis. Good luck!
Is there really a stainless steel version of the Marcato Atlas 150 Wellness pasta maker? Some sites advertise it.
A shopper on Dec 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I bought a stainless steel version a year ago for my daughter.
Which attachment would make soba noodles?
A shopper on Oct 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The spaghetti attachment will give you the shape of dibs noodles.
Is the roller made from aluminium? I am comparing Imperia pasta maker with this. Seems Imperia rollers are better made
yuan y on May 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have had my Atlas Pasta maker for a couple of years and love it. It is made of steel. I haven't had a single problem with it. It's very sturdy and dependable. I've given one to a niece as a present.
Can you use this machine to roll out bread /pizza dough?
A shopper on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not really, it would if you wanted a long narrow pizza. My wife loves it for a lot of pastry but pizza is not one of them.
We used this machine and noticed not metal shavings but flakes of silver somethings in the dough. Not sure what this is?
Debra C on Aug 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We have not experienced this with our machine. We love it!
I have an older Atlas Manual OMC Marcato pasta maker. I went to use it recently and tiny bits of what appeared to be chrome kept coming out int he pasta. I ran it through multiple times and although the flecks got less they still kept coming. Is this a common problem?
A shopper on Jul 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I couldn't speak towards it being common, but this has not happened to me. Yikes!
What are the dimensions?
A shopper on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: From the bottom to the top, as sitting on the table, it is 6 inches high. With the turning handle inserted and at the top, it totals 9 inches high. From furthest side to furthest side, it is 8 inches wide. With turning handle, it totals 13 inches wide. The depth minus the fettuccine attachment (included in box) it measures 5 inches deep. With attachment, it totals 8 inches. The handle extends 5 inches in any direction. So, without handle or attachments, : 6x8x5(HxWxD). With handle and attachment: 9x13x8(HxWxD)
Can one purchase the handle(crank) only? I have misplaced mine and I'm dying to make homemade pasta again!
Thx, Valaree Hoover
Valaree H on Aug 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The SKU is 770149.
