Has anyone tried the Silpain with roasted vegetables? I already own the Silpat and I like it very much. However, roasted vegetables don't get quite as crispy or "browned" on the edges as I would like. The vegetables do get browned, but not as crispy when compared to using parchment paper or right on the baking sheet. Will the Silpain give roasted vegetables more browned edges (crispiness) than the Silpat?
A shopper on Nov 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Because it's perforated, you;ll find that it will make your veggies crispier than a traditional SilPat.
can you use silpats when broiling?
Denise S on Jan 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The information I have seen about these silicon pads is that they are not to be used for broiling (and are not even to been placed in an oven when preheating without goods to be cooked on the pad. . I'd say no to broiling--very high direct heat would be too much, I think.
Six years ago I got my first Silpat mat. It is 14 x 19 F 06 model. The cookie sheet is a 18 x13. Now I'm looking for the same measurements of a Silpat & I cannot find. Why? Thanks aw
A shopper on Jan 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have found a variety of Silpat liners around the web, but have not found any larger than this one. I guess it depends on whether you are using a true cookie sheet, which is rimless, rather than a sheet pan, which has approximately 1" sides (these are often mistakenly referred to as cookie or baking sheets). Just a note: there are many imitation Silpats and Silpains out there and they often have "made in France" printed on them. Be careful and make sure you are getting the authentic product!
Can I place this liner directly on the floor of my electric convection oven. I have one in there now that I used on my last electric only oven. So many of the directions want it installed on the bottom rack of the oven. Why the change?
Diane F on Jun 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, it can't be used as an oven liner.
