Care & Usage Show

  • Hand wash only. To prevent corrosion, dry immediately after washing and rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every use. New cookware may stick slightly, so use a small amount of oil when cooking. Cared for properly, carbon steel will become increasingly nonstick over time
  • Oven safe to 500°F

I bought this because it was on a friend's wedding registry. I tried to make the purchase multiple times last night and this afternoon, even tried different browsers. Steel with great searing capabilities on my outdoor burners. Also will go in the woodfire oven for paella. The finish will take a beating in the BBQ arena and I won't color my All Clad Stainless. My wife prefers that I blacken fish outside and I can fit large fillets on this pan.

We have other Lodge cookware and enjoy it for the durability and versatility; as we frequently cook on our Green Egg in addition to stove. We expect this "made in the USA" product will perform just as well as our other pans.

Has anyone cooked stir fry rice in this? Like pork fried rice?

BEST ANSWER: I use my 15” skillet as a paella pan. One of the steps in the paella recipe is to stir fry Arborio rice in oil to coat the grains. The surface area of the skillet is large so it is easy to stir fry. After adding liquid and other ingredients to the rice, i put the whole skillet in the oven. When done, the skillet goes right on the table for everyone to dig in. I have the way the skillet retains heat and it goes from stovetop to oven to table easily.
